Hey everybody!
I just recently moved to Los Angeles from Colorado. I was given all of my records and a 6 month refill period of Testosterone from my former doctor. But I'm kind of at a loss of how to get the testosterone and what to do about my insurance. I was on Colorado Medicaid and from what I've read medicaid doesn't transfer from state to state. I'm living in my girlfriend's studio apartment until we can find a place closer to El Segundo.
What I'm here to ask is: How do I go about transferring my Medicaid to Medi-Cal? I tried applying last night on the internet and they somehow couldn't confirm my identity. I haven't gone through a name change yet but I did change my legal gender marker in May.
I've tried calling the clinic twice but haven't gotten a call back :^(. Anybody have any insight?

My understanding is you will have to apply again in the State your moving too. The two may overlap possibly as a transfer is made, but you will need to contact both the state your from and going to ahead of time and get things rolling as soon as you can. Hugs

I'm also on Medicaid, and I looked into what happens if you move out of state. What I found is that you have to reapply in the state you move to and coverage can't overlap, so you'd be without coverage during that time.

(I know this site is discussing senior care, but it breaks down the process better than other sites I found.)
