Title: Ch...ch...changes...
Post by: Laura Smith on August 01, 2016, 05:08:56 AM
Hi y'all
As the title says ... Changes
When I started transistioning about 18 months ago I had a sleeveless dress, which with my broad shoulders looked weird
Fast forward to yesterday, out of curiosity tried on same dress and I don't believe it!
Where have my once broad shoulders gone?
The dress looked totally different
I didn't expect the change and can't really remember when it happened - but wow!

Have you had any unexpected changes that took you by surprise?

If so, what were they, and how did you make their discovery?

Hrt all effects all us slightly differently - what's been your experience?

I has a dress that was so tight I couldn't zip it all the way most of the time.  Now I can slip it on with ease over my head with the zipper already up.  So things have apparently changed a lot even though I have a hard time seeing it myself in the mirror.

I've found my upper body has changed quite significantly over the last 9 months. I was never particularly muscley to begin with but somehow my neck, shoulders and upper arms has really become more feminine and slender. Yay!

My partner is also my yoga teacher.  She has told be many times how much my body has altered over the past 9 months.  I asked her what she sees differently on me since HRT began again last year.  Staring for a second, she told me "everything".  I thought maybe it was just placating...until she handed me a shirt that I would never have been able to fit in to...and holy clap, it fit!  It is a fitted tank, size 'small'.  This would not have been possible last summer...

It would seem that often we cannot 'see' the changes, but must use other tools to measure.  Clothing is one such tool :)

I haven't really lost much upper body mass yet, but with the new breastages, some of the tops I had from before just don't fit anymore. They are too tight.

Some of my male dress shirts that I used to buy just a little big, I seem to be swimming in though, so I must have lost at least some mass.
