Title: What to expect from Hrt
Post by: Drexy/Drex on August 03, 2016, 04:26:18 AM
I,m on point of beginning  but am first sending some photo's  to Alexandria  off Ffs uk
I,m 102kg 6 ft and hve been lifting weights for a long time so though i dont look like a body builder  i do have a well muscled body, originally i was a tall slender teenager , so i,m assuming  once i go on hrt my upper boxy mass will diminish , i was intially worried about my size but then looked around at the myriads of different  shaped woman , and in fact a female freind of mine lifts weights...she deadlifts 100kg
And so do i she is àbout the same height as me too , so i thought well i can continue to exercise and it would be my hope that i would be perceived as an athletic woman and with an alternative dress code i would have some character i don't  think I'd  ever be a girly girly more like a tom boy like my sister , my greatest challange is to get ffs and hair .
But i diverge   what effect does hormones have on one ? how long would it take for people to notice...or would the changes be too subtle  to be noticable  i work inthe desert where our work force is 90% men and ten % woman and even though the crews are rough they are pretty acceepting being the earthy  types they are
Also we now have strict anti harassment  laws in the work place
Hmm there i go again on a tangent
So yes taking hormones makes me feel nervous ii,v alfeady been on male hrt so my bodys testosterone  will be completely  shut down
So the female hormones will just flood my body with out any testosterone  to get in the way initially
I've  seen people on the net take photos of themselves from the beginning  of hrt through to the end .....its intrestimg nearly all of them look sad at the begining and part way through but then towards the end they are all smiling  and happy

Hi.

Let me start with a story but leaving out the name of a community member we once had back in 2010-2011. They started HRT at around 25 and were like you say a body builder. With in a year they went from a muscle man to a petite slender woman. Of course they stopped lifting and such but e really helps to kill that muscle gain fast.

In terms of people noticing is up to you, for instance I have been on hrt for 5 years I have a full B cup and my hair is uber thin. I have long hair and blah blah but I still completely present as male. People wont notice anything you dont want them to so dont panic. I myself am no girly girl, I am a tom boy and I have never wanted to be some frilly girl who giggles.

When I first started all of this i got question like you just want to wear heels and make up right? Well no I never use make up and I hate the concept of heels. Be who you want to be because honestly thats up to you. if you get a ffs which I plan to the need for things like tons of make up becomes less likely. In terms of being 6ft that girl I mentioned earlier was 5ft 9 and it really worked out for her.

Thanks for your reply ...puts me at ease ....as yes intially i was in a panic about how i was going to make it work , id look in the mirror and think no way  , but with e to help diminish the  muscle i snould be able to get down to 80kg   and with ffs  i think i can be who i want to be its both exciting and terrifying  so many things to do
If you dont mind me asking and if anyone esle would like to comment how  have the hormones affected the way you think and feel ?

Hmm sure why not.

Year 1:
I experienced pms like symptoms from month 1-3.
I experienced menopause like symptoms from 3-6.
I experience complete emotional instability from 6-12 as I got used to an e brain.

After year 1 it all smoothed out to who I am now. So what do I mean by who I am now? I mean how my emotional state is on an E run brain. I live in guy mode due to the fact I don't pass even though I have been on HRT for 5 years and have a full B cup, I simply cant pass due to my face. I am also a student so no money for surgeries yet.

Hence why I just stay in guy mode but heres what has happened to me while never really presenting as myself:
Emotionally I am much weaker in the sense that controlling my emotions is a lot harder, if someone is making me sad chances are I will cry. In terms of personality I become for lack of a better word adorable and this does cause me issues in guy mode where if I dont pay enough attention I let me out and guys make comments like "Cutest thing I have ever seen" now if I dont wear my glasses I do get flagged as female so it does cause people to wonder. In terms of hobbies they didnt change on HRT but why should they? I am me so why reject what I like.

In terms of thinking I suppose the easiest way to put it is I just dont guys anymore after 4 years of a full E brain I find what on T brain was funny etc to just annoy me in many cases or just not be funny. I dont really think their is a way to truly describe it as you remember how your brain on T worked so you can still easily 1+1 to talk but cant really put into into application on the fly. I dont know its not like your stupid or something its just your brain ticks differently after e.

Sorry this isnt really descriptive but I replied on my phone with a much longer reply but the wifi in my house died and the message was lost so I just wasnt up to retyping that whole story sorry :-\.

Hey thank you for sharing that with me i,m so curious and every bit of information helps  and i was able to understand  its intriguing
I appreciate  your input thank you  :)
Oh and i umderstand about the facial characteristics. ...I'd  have no chance with out ffs zilch nada .....i still dont know if that being done would i would prob have to go radical so i would not recognise myself in the mirror  ...but that would not matter to me as the face i see in the mirror anyway now is  not me ....

Youll see a few girls here who needed no work and that will get you down but dont worry many of us are in the same boat and a good ffs doctor will do wonders.

HRT did not really change my emotions much that I have noticed.  However, I think I was pretty closely in touch with them to begin with.  What it did do, and it did it pretty quickly, was greatly reduce dysphoria, cure depression, eliminate growing suicidal thoughts, eliminate a growing dependence on alcohol, eliminate a porn addiction, and enable a greatly increased clarity of thought and focus of mind.   Even if no physical changes occurred, HRT would be worth it.  On the other hand, it could be that some of this positive mind effect is due to the physical changes themselves.  For me, I think they have been fairly good.

It is important to consider that every body is different, so while there is someone who lost most of their muscle within a year of starting HRT, there are many more that didn't. HRT is not a miracle drug that will transform you overnight; it takes years to feminize a body that went through male puberty, and if you did weight training and added extra muscle it will probably take a little, or a lot longer. Your body's response to HRT depends on many factors, such as age, genetics, your body's estrogen receptors, body frame, height, how much testosterone you received In Utero, etc.

In regard to muscle mass. Yes, i was an am pretty athletic and have a pretty developed upper body. HRT has softened things a bit but my total muscle mass up there has not gone down a lot. I have noticed some loss in strength though, i tried a bench press last month on amount i use to do with relative ease....no way no more.

Still, the addition of softer skin, a layer of fat under it and of course breast growth has feminized my upper body a lot.

Everyone is indeed different.

Thank you all :) time will tell ....I wonder what the look on my doc's face will be when I tell him I want to start taking female hormones or maybe I will access the transgender resourses here and find a doctor through them
I would prefer a female endo anyway The mental clarity and positive aspects sound great  Deborah:)
With my body type I was tall and slim I had to work very hard for every gram of muscle so I might be lucky and lose it easily but have enough to retain ( a female ) athletic form
Thanks : )

Look up Chris Tina Bruce to see how a male bodybuilder becomes a woman.

wow.  I love the image of her running, cut, still strong, but undeniably feminine.  Interesting though that she allowed the bicep vein to stay prominent.  If I could get down to that size and maintain health, that would be absolutely incredible.

Yes she's impressive, with the veins thats what happens when you lift for years  it would probably not be so prominent if she stoped lifting, like when I go to the gym I always where a t shirt , because when I wear a singlet and am pumped my upper body is just a 3d road map of veins every where, and people stare , guys try and pic me up lol ....my hope is that with hrt I can pass as a female bodybuilder that would bebe okay and would disguise my size so to speak

I always got the most "roadmap" response in the cutting phase,  eg, dieting and biking and more biking and more biking and more biking...

I lost my interest in that part when I showed the family and everyone went, "ewwwwww".

Where did that ice cream go.

That's pretty cool, I can't keep that kind of mass though.  The fitter at the department store actually suggested I should look at some of the female Olympic swimmers for body image role models; and I'm starting to think she was on to something.    A good compromise I think for my size and frame.

Yes Olympic  female swimmers physique would make a good template not to mentkon the health benefits
I've  dropped to 96 kg now  i can see where some female  fat in the right places would do the job

Most effect will have makeup and long hair. But hormones dont do your hair become thicker and fuller. Thats a myth. So be realistic. Hormones are like a softener but make no major changes at all.

Just thought I'd fix the link. Your start tag was missing,  and the end tag was at the beginning.

Mods, please delete my post if you fix the original.
