Title: Estrogen and IBS
Post by: Amy1988 on August 04, 2016, 08:30:39 PM
Has anyone experienced IBS after starting estrogen?  I think I have it and I think it was triggered by estrogen and post orchiectomy.

If you were on Spiro and you discontinued using it, you may be getting more fluid in you intestinal track causing the problem. You might have had it before but the Spiro could have masked the symptoms. It also possible given time you body will adjust to the new balance.

Are you lactose intolerant?   A lot of E pills contain lactose.  Though I have no idea if it's enough to upset someone who is intolerant.

I have have IBS and was diagnosed before I started E. Its gotten worse due to the amount of stress and depression that I have had. I asked if it was the E and was told its more likely the stress than anything else.

I have Crohn's disease, and am having it closely monitored by  my gastro and my endo.  So far, so good. A slight uptick in diarrhea but I don't think it is due to hrt (for me).
