Title: Still more names

ok.  I thought I was all set with names, but my partner and I were bouncing them around again.  We had originally both liked "Elle," (my original first name begins with "E.") but after mulling it over for a few weeks, we're having second thoughts.  She pointed out that it wasn't even on the radar when I was born (1960) and is only recently gaining any popularity.  Having taken 4 years of high school french, I find the meaning more charming, while she thinks it's a little cliche, preferring Elisabeth. 

So, I'm now pondering a few names starting with "El," listed here in order of my current preference:

Elle
Elise (Elyse)
Elisabeth
Ellie
Ella

Any thoughts over names I ought to scratch to narrow the list a little?  Thanks!

Female names starting with E don't seem to be real common but in the 1960's these made the list.

I like Elise, as I associate it with Beethoven, but I wouldn't find it strange to meet someone in their 50s named Elle.

You should probably go with one of your top two, as you seem to prefer the el-ee sound, over el-ih, or el-ah.

Emma seems to be common these days. Edith, probably not. I like the sound of Erin, or Eva.

Picking a name is an important step. Choose wisely. 😃
