Welcome to Susan's Place. I seen you moving around earlier and I glad you came out to join us. What you are facing is scary and difficult but it can be done. I completed my transition in 1982 when far less help was available and you will have far more help available to understand yourself. A gender therapist is a good place to start but I understand you may not be ready for that yet. I have two links I can offer you. The first is our WIKI (https://www.susans.org/wiki/Transgender) where you may find a name that matches what you feel. The second is "the transition channel" (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfO3B57E6NpIn-KsVjvmLLw) where you can learn more about transsexualism. Feel free to ask me any question you might have.
We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Jayyytee16,
Welcome to the site.
You have gotten some good responses already.
It is scary and feels like you are alone. You are not. There are many of us all over. I agree with Dena about the gender therapist.
Are you under 18? If so, you could maybe start by talking to a school counselor. If so, have you talked to your parents or anyone yet? That can be tough to do but if they are understanding, they may be your best advocates. If you are under 18 you might also want to check our our area called Youth Talk. It is for members under 18 to share like and different experiences.
Keep asking and posting if you have questions. I hope you find what you are looking for.
With warmth,
Joanna

I went to a support group last night for the first time and feel sooo much better. It was like coming home, finally. I could talk openly and get a lot of uh-huh's instead if that WTF look I get from most of the world. I would highly recommend it. It was comfortable, no drama and everyone was very nice and welcoming. I'm in San Antonio and it is SAGA. I'm sure you can find one in your area. Good luck and keep at it. I chickened out so many times in my life, I am 54 and just now decided to transition. Don't wait that long!
