I just got off the phone with my social worker who works for Group Health and she discussed two opportunities the plan supports. Castration or Orchiectomy and voice coaching. I feel like I've died and gone to heaven compared to how I was feeling just 5 short months ago. I think the idea of voice coaching is great, but the Orchiectomy would that be a good idea? Opinions please,
Sorry for using the term Easter Egg for my description but I've worked with computers for many years. Easter Eggs are the surprising bits of code that usually has nothing to do with what you are working with but are a curiosity to follow, Again this was a situation that I thought not possible and came as a complete surprise..

I thought oophorectomy was the remove of ovaries (oophore is a thing with eggs in it). Perhaps they meant to say orchidectomy?

I've had group health voice coaching for a little while now and it's been going quite great! Would recommend it if you want it

Surgery hurts and voice therapy takes time and effort, but if it's what you want, go for it. This coming from somebody who has had GCS and speech therapy. One consideration is that you will still need Spiro after surgery so you don't get rid of it but surgery can still be worthwhile.

i've been on spiro for 25 years albeit a smaller dose. What's a few more years. I have nothing but time on my hands. What I was looking for at this late stage of my life is emotional rebirth. So far it has been fantastic as I've quit being angry. It's been like my body realizes it's been missing something all these years.

Voice yes and orchi depends if you want or need it. I would go for both in different circumstances.
