Title: Venesection

Anyone here have to have a medical blood let as result of T?
My paperwork mentions the potential need for it and I understand it's done if the cell count is too high, but just wondered if it's something people here have experienced or a relatively rare requirement.

I've heard of it here before, you're not alone, although I can't answer to the frequency of it. For some reason I think Arch may have mentioned it, but don't hold me to that.

I have not personally encountered it, but yes - that is what they would recommend if your red blood cell count is too high. My doctor didn't refer to it like that, she just said if it came back high she'd find the nearest Red Cross blood drive and send me off to it.
I wouldn't say it's common, but I also wouldn't say that it's rare based on speaking to other guys.

Yeah, not heard it referred to as venesection often except on this literature... at first glance I read it as "vein-section" and thought wtf.

Sheesh that sounds like something out of the 1805 Lewis and Clark Expedition: Apply leaches and give lead for 3 days ;D

I know a guy who gives blood regularly because he has a high cell count. I haven't personally, but my doctor has never ruled it out either.
