Title: Dysphoria easing even though I am not on HRT yet.

I'm starting to get excited about my transition and now even though I have not started HRT yet I feel like my dysphoria is easing. Everyday when I look in the mirror I used to think of myself as extremely ugly but I had no idea why. Now that I know I am transsexual, I understand that was my dysphoria. But seeing as how I'm about to start my hormones, I wake up and look at myself in the mirror as a woman. Not a man. And I am starting to feel a little better about how I look.
Is any of this normal?

Yes. Just the act of taking the first step in a plan of action eased my dysphoria before HRT started. I'm not sure it would have lasted long if I hadn't followed through though.

Yes, it is totally normal. Anything you do to make progress towards transition eases the dysphoria. Anything that impedes progress or delays it increases dysphoria.
Make an appointment: Aaahh! Relief!
Wait for the appointment: Hmmph! This sucks!
Congratulations on starting your transition!
