Hello:
Due to the Estrodiol Valerate shortage, i couldn't get my injection while i was in atlanta,ga. My doctor prescribed the pills instead of but i couldn't get that because i had to fly back to canada before i could get the pills with me. It was so frustrating.
I've been searching about the pellet. I also consider asking my doctor about this method on the next visit. Have any of you ladies had any experience about this? I hope you can help me out with the following questions:
- Do you know long it will take to take for the compound pharmacy to produce the pellets based on the doctor's prescription? My time in US normally about 5 days. I just want to have an ideas the time frame that i can ask the prescription from my doctor in advance so my doctor can have it when i am in office
- Can you you have the implant more than 6 months?
- Can the implant procedure be done in the doctor office?
- Any advantages /disadvantages of having pellet implant.
- Do you know the cost? Don't have to be exact amount. My insurance won't cover this because i am seeing the US doctor so i pay my prescription myself.
Thank you so much for your help, ladies.

I don't know how long it would take to arrange the pellet.
The implant generally lasts about 6 months.
My implant was done in the doctor's office - although in their room for said procedures. So maybe.
The disadvantage to me was that the procedure grossed me out. You might be fine with that kind of thing though. The big advantage is it's much less harsh on your body than taking pills.
Mine cost me AUD$126 not including the cost of the procedure which is around AUD$94. I'm sure the pricing will vary a bit for you though.
Good luck!

I had one put in about 4 weeks ago,
Small incision made under local aesthetic, pellet is loaded into a kind of triggered syringe and then inserted, 3 stitches and good to go for the next 6 months plus. I also take medication to supplement this. The procedure was done in the Dr office and took about 15 minutes...no big deal really. Can't say I have felt the same intense highs and lows that I was when purely on the tablets. My mood is more even without being blunted in any way. I seem to be getting consistent steady changes and much prefer the implant to the pills.
My pellet was supplied by my Dr and she had this in her office. She does about 20 a month she said.
Hope this helps

PM me if you need a pharmacy that has ev in stock, mine ordered some extra vials when I last refilled my prescption. 40mg/ml concentration generic from Perrigo .
Best wishes, both premarin and the generic went into backorder at the same time :-(.

Can you say any more about that? Ive only heard it once before, and I don't know the reason why. My endo did say that implants can get encapsulated. That slows the release down so levels are low but last a very long time.

I guess I found it. Seems to be a bit of a mystery.
