Title: Subliminals and power of suggestion. Does it work?

Hi girls and boys, hope you have a great day!
Anyway, just recently I stumbled upon these videos on youtube, called subliminals. Some of them are intended to enhance concentration, some of them are for better writing skills...and some of them are "feminising" or other way around. So my question is, I guess, can something like that really work? Does it affect our unconscious mind in any way?
If so, it would be a great way to give us hope- all those of us who are not yet transitioning but want to see some changes.
Uploaders of these videos often claim these have not only psychological effects, but also, given enough time, physiological changes as well. Is that even possible?
I'm sorry if I sound stupid, but you know..even a straw means hope for a drowning person.

Depends what sort of method they're using. The ones that flash text in between other content don't work. The ones that talk to you while you're paying attention to something else might work a bit. You have to play them over and over though. It's sort of like how you learn a song that's played on the radio and in public even though you weren't paying attention to it.
I find that awareness meditation is more effective that this kind of stuff. Have you found any meditation videos for womanhood? Granted, in your meditation mind gender doesn't tend to matter as much, but who knows, there's lots of stuff out there. By focusing and quieting your mind you can change things more directly than trying to influence your subconscious slowly.
If you do awareness meditation on your own to become more mindful, then you will be more mindful during the day of your mannerisms and reactions and you can direct yourself to express yourself more genuinely and less the way you've been taught just to get along. It just stands to reason that paying attention to something will aid learning and response much better than deliberately NOT paying attention to something, which is all subliminal means.

They only work if you want them to. I would recommend closing your eyes and meditating about your future self. Go to your happy place and allow your body and mind to be influenced and changed..

You are looking for a straw of hope so here are a few: Can using certain youtube videos help you feel more feminine? In my experience, yes - and that's a very nice feeling BTW :) Can they help you connect with your inner feminine self? Yes. Can they help you project your true self, and accept yourself? They have the potential to help.
However (and now the however :-\) sound waves will not give you 38C boobs, wide hips, or soft skin - sorry :-\ But here is another straw for you. Hormones, laser treatments and surgery can give you the physical changes, but you need to be mentally and emotionally prepared before making those changes. Think of it as required prep work.
Sandboxed, and AnxietyDisord3r make great points on meditating. The type of video on youtube that I found helpful were the ones that helped with establishing a meditative mind frame. Fiona Clearwater (youtube) has one on feminization that I find very calming - I sit up at the end feeling like a beautiful woman :)

Personally the only thing that worked for me in changing personality aspects, mindsets, habits or skills was a conscious and vocalized decision to change something, followed by consciously establishing a new habit, followed by correction whenever I recognized I was straying from the "path".
Nothing else worked. Only force of will, action and determination to encorporate something until it became second nature.
I could have wasted a lot of money on things like that or hypnosis or psychic driving or whatever, but I recognized early on it was not going to work on me. Or did not work strongly enough to effect real results.

Hypnosis, the power of suggestion, meditation, and subliminal messaging are all useful to some people. However, there is a portion of the population immune to all of it, and a large portion that is unaffected by most of it, and a smaller portion who can use it effectively. What works for one might not work for another, I view it as a YMMV thing. Try it, and if you feel it is working, keep going.

Honestly, a lot of stuff like this is greatly dependent on placebo effect. My girlfriend is SUPER sensitive to the placebo effect, and if she believes it will work? It doesn't matter how "quack-y" it sounds, it'll work. If she believes it won't? No number of studies talking about the success rate will make it work. For me, I have an anti-placebo effect, so when something does work, I'm surprised.
The power of the human mind is really amazing. If you go into it believing it will help, then you have a decent chance of seeing it make a difference. If you go into it with a lot of skepticism, though, it's probably not going to help much.
And like someone else said, it's not going to have the effects of HRT or anything like that. At best, it may help with your mental state and feeling more feminine, which can be really important just on its own. There's no harm in giving it a try and seeing if it helps, especially if it's free YouTube videos (I would avoid anything that costs money, personally; a lot of that stuff tends to be scams).

Hello, resident occultist here.
Yes, some of them work. How well? I was involved in a case where someone started trying to literally skin themself after WAY too many of them had given them some sort of extreme dysphoria. Last I spoke to them, they could not remember their past life as their own memories and insisted they were a character from My Little Pony trapped in someone else's life. I do not believe they ever fully recovered. The occult community has actually been trying to get people to be more careful with these things: some occult organizations actively tell people to stay out of that stuff all together.
If you experiment with these, I urge you to be careful: do not use them back to back, do not repeat them until you've had a chance to sleep the last one off and re-acclimate, and do not structure chunks of your life around using them. Hypnosis is legitimately dangerous.
