Title: Top surgery Tomorrow any advice?
Post by: Xylon23 on October 11, 2016, 03:41:40 AM
I'm almost 8 months on T and my scheduled surgery is the 12th of October and I'm feeling nervous. I haven't gotten much insite on what to bring or supplies to buy for top surgery recovery as of yet besides google searches however, I need more information. It's creeping up fast so any help is much appreciated.

Wear that day:
- Slip on shoes, comfy pants/shorts, a button up shirt.

Have with you that day:
- Fill the prescriptions your surgeon gave you and bring all of them, water, ginger ale if you get nauseous, crackers, stool softeners.

After surgery:
- Drink some ginger ale, eat some crackers, and start your prescriptions and stool softeners. Keep track on paper or set alarms to remind you to take the next round.

Get for home:
- Straws, pillows, baby wipes.

Do today before surgery:
- Either buy pre-made meals (like TV dinners), or make some so that no one has to cook for you and you can take care of yourself. Take care of anything around the house that would drive you crazy if you had to sit and stare at it for 2 weeks.

I have a colleague who's son in law is getting top surgery in Portland soon. Ask for help! If you have family members or close friends that you can rely on ask them for anything you may need. This collegue of mine spent 12 hours last Sunday cooking freezable foods because that is what her son in law asked for.
