Hello. I am trying not to cry as I type this. :). I am so incredibly happy to be FINALLY moving forward with transitioning to female! Yay! I am 43 years old...did 2 years in the Navy out of high school in a misguided attempt to "man up" lol...two failed marriages and the birth of twin daughters, all of which temporarily subdued this NEED. I finally sat myself down, examined my life and what I was doing wrong - which was denying myself to actually live AS myself. Well, no more! I came out to a few work friends (all women) and one friendly member of our HR department (I work in a very trans-friendly company). I also came out to my mother which, as expected, did not go very well. All is great however - I have NEVER been as happy...just utterly full of joy...as I have been these last few weeks since my epiphany. I should be starting HRT in December. I can't wait. I have been (and will continue to do so) shedding some pounds and trying to force my hair to grow out more quickly by sheer willpower lol. :). I am very much looking forward to chatting now with people experiencing the same things. Thanks!

Welcome Emily! You have come to a great site! You can become as involved as you like. Lots of information and support here. No question is seen as a dumb question. The opinions are as varied as the number of members. Enjoy!
