Title: Merits of fishnet vs. nylon hosiery

In fall and winter, I like to wear fishnet, but fishnet is a kind of provoking fashion here in my country. Few women wear it.
I found some merits of fishnet.
1. It is more hygienic than nylon.
As a regular runner, I am always concerned about fungal infection such as Athlete's foot. As I have class on Monday and Tuesday, I chose nylon stockings. Just wearing them for 2 days boosted Athlete's foot in the little toe of my left foot. Now I am wearing fishnet again.
And you do not need to wash fishnet frequently. I sometimes wear the same fishnet for more than 3 days. I guess I can wear it for more than a week without washing.
And suspended fishnets are particularly good for the hygiene the buttocks and also the front area.
Most of fishnets I have are suspended ones.
2. It warms legs more than nylon.
Contrary to the intuition, fishnet is warmer than nylon stockings.
3. It is far more durable than nylon.
The average lifespan of my nylon hosiery is less than a week, but that of fishnet can be more than 10 years. I still wear a few fishnets I purchased more than 10 years ago.
Next week, I am going to wear fishnet even during the class.

Hoping this will be a good tip for your winter fashion.

Hosiery of any kind is rarely seen on women in the US these days. The nylon industry must be suffering. When they do wear something on the legs it's frequently opaque tights or leggings.
You seem to have a love of the fishnet style, though, so you might as well make it signature thing for you. Many fashionable women adopt something that they love and make their thing that way. Actress Blake Lively wears yellow often, while almost nobody in Hollywood wears yellow. I once read an article about a male schoolteacher who wore to work a normal men's suit above the waist, but a skirt, stockings and high heel pumps below.
I think the secret to successfully wearing a signature piece is to wear it differently than normal-- in your own style.

From a link at another thread I ran across a tongue-in-cheek article that suggests you may have an edge with your fishnets, Barbie. Titled "6 Items You Should Wear To Achieve World Domination", it lists:
1. Something Super-Feminine
2. Chunky Heels
3. Futuristic Fabrics
4. Oversized Everything
5. Mysterious Sunglasses
6. Eccentric Details
I'd say fishnets with garter tops cover numbers 1 and 6. Seems like I've seen you in some pretty mean sunglasses. All you need to take over are some fancy fabrics, a supersized handbag and some noisier heels. ;)

Lyric,
Thanks for the interesting article. I will read it carefully later.
Yes. I have several over-sized bags and sunglasses. I usually avoid sunglasses as I look more masculine when I cover my eyes, which my friends comment are the most feminine feature in my face.
A problem of suspender fishnets I am facing now is that most of them are too short, revealing my thighs. I purchased them from AliExpress.com and I guess they are for petite Asian women, not me. Those I had purchased in the U.S. are big enough, but relatively expensive.

As I am going to San Diego on November 1 through Los Angeles, I will look for nice and longer fishnets.

I think this may vary regionally. In the Chicago area, I do see women wearing pantyhose and semi-sheer patterned tights more in the last few years than a few years back. I'm also seeing it more on TV shows too.

Be careful with fishnet, you can give a lot of guys whiplash! They do tend to attract attention more than boring nylon pantyhose.
That said, I am in the bare leg group most days.
