I'm almost a year on hrt, but I'm curious.... I understand that it's YMMV and even though that's true, approximately how long do we wait till we say "ok that's all it's going to do."?

A few years? Sometime for some weird reasons the changes just stopped for a while.. and then suddenly spring back to life sometime later.

I hormones were done many years ago and when I resumed them I was only hoping for the fat in my face to fill out again. After a month for the first time in my life I developed achy boobs so I guess there is more in store for me. A CIS woman develops throughout puberty so a more exact answer would be 5 to 10 years but if you go a year without much change, you may have achieved most of your potential.

After being on the patch for several years, and recently switching to injectibles again, I can feel that familiar acheyness in my breasts... and I transitioned nearly 20 years ago.  It really depends on your regimen and your sensitivity to hormones.

If you need adjustments to your dosage because of no changes then that would mean your estrogen is low while testosterone is on the high side right?

Or another thought, puberty/hrt isn't a constant slew of changes one after the next. Sometimes things go dormant and start up again randomly. I wish that was understood better. Also just cause you're not actually seeing changes doesn't mean changes aren't happening, a lot of it happens subtle like fat redistribution. To really see the changes, you have to meticulously take your measurements every month or so, take various pictures and record your data. Imo 5-6 years is enough time to say that most of the immediate changes have finalized, thats only if you've been on hrt consistently without stopping and its been a good regimen for yourself.

After 7 years I still see and feel changes as my hormone regime varies. Big physical changes were over by year 2 or so. Only minor up's and downs  :o after that. Minor physical changes are hard for me to quantify. I can gain 5 lbs by just inhaling too deeply walking past a bakery. On average, I believe my breasts have gotten a bit larger then the year 3 size. An Almost B cut to an almost for real B cup. I've always had big hips so I can't say any thing about them aside from how after loosing some more weight sitting on hard surfaces really hurts.

Your estrogen might be too low FOR YOU and adding/increasing progesterone may sometimes help. Talk to your doctor.

I agree here too. Patience is of the utmost importance. But, if you really see no changes after 6-12 months, then an adjustment MAY or MAY NOT help.

My estrogen levels are 182 and my testosterone levels are 14, but I still feel like nothing has changed except breasts.

Your own perception of yourself may be biased. Compare pics from pre-HRT to now. Notice how strangers react to you. Levels, in and of themselves, don't reveal much. Not everyone responds the same, some need less, some need more.
