Not much difference, I think. Fairly procedural surgeries.
In 2012 I decided for Bart, but eventually I found another surgeon. Bart seemed right for me, but I did not want to be operated in a private clinic. I wanted a hospital, for better access to everything I would need.
I never seen the other. I guess they are top of their game as well. So I think it doesn't matter where you go to. Personally, the deciding factor for me is:
- friendliness
- open to questions.
- not rushing things
- not pushing things.
And most important: most of all, I wanted to feel safe and secure with my surgeon. A good "vibe". Chemical/spiritual/human connection. Bart was all of this, but again, I don't like private clinics. So I found a local surgeon who was similar to Bart.
I don't think it's possible to make a general preference list, but if I had to it would look like this:
Noorman van der Dussen, Bart van der Ven, and probably Dr. Spiegel. But in the end I choose a local no-name surgeon. And it seems I am satisfied so far. So I would not fret too much about whose best, because they all are good surgeons. All of them are human and can and eventually make mistakes. Even Dr. Ousterhout got attacked and being close to murdered because of a mistake, and he is, next to Noorman van der Dussen, a founding father of FFS. So yeah... there you go. No one is flawless.
