Pretty much enjoy any shopping any time I can do it as Tonya. Probably won't care for it again after I go full time. Except for clothes shopping.

That's sort of funny. It was exciting at first, then as I got out of the house more as myself, but couldn't be myself at home (long story), it became a way to stretch out my time as myself.
Now that I'm full time, it has rapidly changed to just something I do. As in "Oops, no lettuce or onions, off to the grocery down the street." :)

I do enjoy shopping but grocery shopping can be a chore especially when the store is swamped. Hugs

Some days its fun but others its like really do I have to do it, but cant do it when the shopping ctr is packed,
Then there are the days you spend hours looking for something a cant find what you need and it turns into a wasted day,
But on the flip side you find everything you want and it ends up being on special and your wallet / purse comes home empty.

Oy. So, right now there's a big rainstorm moving in. As in, I can look out my window and see a curtain of gray rain a mile west and headed my way.
An hour ago, I was sitting at my table to have breakfast, reading some posts and anticipating a calm and quiet Saturday, a welcome break after my busy but productive week. Alas, not to be.
I'm out of milk. There was maybe a quarter cup in the bottom of the carton. No English muffins, Bread almost gone. The last of the romaine was wilting into green goo. A half serving of breakfast cereal left. Bad Michelle! No biscuit!
So, knowing that a rainstorm would be here within the hour, I have to go grocery shopping. Oh, and I have electrolysis on Monday so I'm growing a fresh crop of facial hair. Joy...
I trowel on the concealer, stage makeup that covers growing hair pretty well. Eyes, foundation, blush, bronzer to tweak the nose, chin, and cheeks to read better. Lipstick. Put on a turtleneck to hide that lump on my trachea. Public wig in place. Check! I think I set a speed record.
Grab my purse and a cloth grocery bag. Down the stairs, across the park, a block and a half to Trader Joes. Bread. Muffins. Cereal. Milk. Romaine lettuce. Check. Off to the 15 item or less lane.
THUD! Someone in front of me has a whole damn grocery cart full. Obviously numerically challenged. Outside, it's getting darker. The wind has come up. The clerk is too polite to toss the innumerate customer. Ah! The other lane is now open! I get the purchase done, and I'm out the door.
Scarf on, wind picking up, I dash home. Not very feminine of me, blowing off walking heel and toe merely to get out of the wind and rain, but there's nobody out on the street to misread me.
I got inside just as the raindrops start to fall.
And that was today's grocery shopping.
It would be nice to have electrolysis and FFS done, so I really could just dash out for a few things without the social risks. Meanwhile, I have to plan a bit better.

I for the most part love shopping; clothes, groceries, et al. Cosmetics are still confusing, and I expect that it is for most women. Sephora's or Ulta have just too many choices. But walking in and asking for help just lets me learn things as well as open up communication between our world and that big group of others out there.
My only problem with shopping was well stated by Michelle. When I let myself get pressed out of my comfort zone it loses a bit of the magic. But it is till magic.

Love, love, love shopping. Clothes for me, clothes for others, gifts, groceries etc. I find it lifts me when i am down, so shopping therapy is very real to me.
