Title: eye color
Post by: Kclaire86 on November 24, 2016, 08:57:43 PM
I don't know if this is the right place to post this but here it goes.
For the longest time I have had these baby blue eyes that were the captivators of anyone who well looked me in the eye o.o
But tonight after today, where I saw some family in a few months... They commented on my"grey contacts". I don't wear contacts o.o but sure enough my eyes are grey now... I've been on hrt for two years, is it common for iris color to change?

AFAIK the eye color can change in life with or without hormonal therapy

Eye color is determined genetically. It shouldn't be affected unless those genes are hormonally activated, which as far as I know, they are not.

I know that in ~2 years HRT my eyes have not changed and I have had a really distinct pigment (green and rust colored).

I do not believe this.

I looked and looked it appears that my brown eyes now have a lighter shade going towards hazel (my moms color)on the outside of my iris working its way in.  I do not know if it has always been like this or if it is changing.  If it is, too cool, if not, well meh.

My eyes were blue in childhood and turned grey in puberty. After 13mo HRT they change between gray/green/blue depending on... moods? If I match clothing colors to them it's really noticeable. At least to me.

Same thing with hair color and texture, it's moving back toward what it was in childhood after turning brown/red and wiry in puberty. There's no red left in any of my new hair, and you can hold a strand up to the light and see where it changes from having reddish tinge and being dark coarse thick and wiry to soft, finer, and..honestly not sure what the color is, it changes so much depending on the strength and angle of light. I shall call it...browgolblonde.

My eyes were hazel. Now they are much greener with blue around the outsude of the iris and a small amount of blue going l little further than the the outer 1/5 of the iris.

That's really interesting. I was just reading how females are more likely to have green eyes.

I always had pretty blue eyes. I noticed them becoming hazel. I don't know if it has to do with HRT, or age.

This reminded me of a girl I used to know back in our teens, and she wanted to scare a group of guys who used to tease her. They would put worms in her food, or just tease about her looks. So she went to a local costume store behind the railroad tracks, and she bought this hideous monstrosity of a mask. The skin was gooey green-yellow, and it look like the face of a demon, its fangs were so life-like. It look so real on her, that it even attach itself against her skin as the night was coming to an end. She did scare the guys, but she look like she lost her marbles, howling to the wind. I don't know how she was able to even remove the mask, because there look like there was no line at all from her skin and the mask.

But back to the point, she looked in the mirror and started freaking out, "Those are not my eyes! Those aren't my eyes!! Where are my eyes" And she ran out in total fright, as I called out to her. It was true, her eyes became greenish olive, when they used to be blue.

The next morning she didn't tell me what happened or how she removed the mask, and we kind of just never spoke of it ever again.
