Title: Membership agreement updated
Post by: Susan on November 25, 2016, 07:39:10 PM
The membership agreement has been updated.

All new members are required to accept the agreement before being allowed to create an account.

This is what was added.

QuoteWe do not send out emails as a general practice, however members can opt to receive, or not, notification of new posts, topics, responses, and notification of new private messages via emails. You maintain sole control over said settings in your forum profile under the Personal Messaging (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php?action=profile;area=pmprefs) section. Make sure to review them immediately upon creating an account.

We send out a monthly newsletter via forum private message to all registered members once per month, and the site administrators and staff may send you additional private messages as needed. You as a condition of your membership agree to accept these private messages.

I have modified the visitor permissions to allow new members to edit non-public items in their profiles, including Account Settings, Look and Layout, Notifications, Personal Messaging, Ignore Boards Options, Ignore Topics Options, Buddies, Ignore List, and Group Membership. The ability to create and edit your public forum profile is granted automatically when you reach 15 posts.

Under TOS #19, all existing members from this point forward indicate their agreement with these terms by continuing to access this web site.

19. By accessing this website, you indicate your legal agreement with the items in our terms of service and membership agreements. Continued access by you to this website is to be considered updating an electronic signature indicating your agreement to both documents. If you do not agree with the membership agreement or terms of service, you must leave this site and not return. Failure to read or keep yourself updated on these documents does not exempt you from said agreement.

If you do not wish to do so simply request deletion (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php?action=profile;area=deleteaccount).
