Hi,
I stumbled upon your little community while doing some research on Yeson in Seoul Korea. I was looking for a place to bounce around a few questions and to seek some insight. What I have discovered is that this community has grown so much from when I transitioned. This is so wonderful.
Well to start I am Sarah and I came out in 2002 to my now ex-wife and had SRS in 2004. That is the short version, suffice it to say, I went through the gambit of therapy, support groups, starting HRT, getting FFS, BA, and SRS. It has been a great ride with only one problem, my voice. Back then there really were not good options for addressing vocal feminization outside of speech therapy. I did that and it did improve, but never to my satisfaction. Then over the last few months, I really started getting depressed about my voice and started doing some research and stumbled upon Yeson. I could not believe it. I actually started feeling the same way I felt when I first came out...it is weird, good, but still weird to feel this way again, I love it :)
That is kinda what brought me here. Here is a little about me; I hail from the great Pacific NW one of the best places in the world to be trans (IMHO), I play roller derby for one of the local leagues and I travel around the country, but mostly to So Cal to play. I run a small consulting firm, which gives me time to garden and work on my house.
Most of my trans friends have moved on with their lives, or probably most likely I have moved on with my things. I wouldn't say I live stealth, but all of my friends are strong, vivacious, extremely independent cis-women. Only one of them knows of my past, and even that is minimal. So my coming by is a nice refreshing homecoming if you will. Back then I was on another forum started by Calpernia. I don't even remember what it was called anymore, just that it was super helpful at a crucial time in my life. This explains why I am here. I think it is important to remember where you came from, and having a sense of community is important. So as I undertake my first surgery in almost 13 years, it felt right to re-connect.
Thanks for being so welcoming already with the posts I have made. I am not sure if I have any valuable insight, but I have been known to be encouraging.
