Title: Anyone successful in finding estradiol valerate?

The manufacturer has released E.V. I'm wondering if it had made it to any pharmacies? CVS, as of last week, couldn't get it.

I gave up on local pharmacies (Northern California CVS, Woolworth etc) because they never had it. I used PrimeMail and never had a problem until this week - they say they have none and it's "on backorder."
I switched to oral tabs for the time being. Good luck!

It's definitely out on the market. I got a new vial from the VHA 2 weeks ago. I would ask about perhaps switching your prescription from the 20 mg/ml to 40mg/ml, if they keep that one in Stock. I don't notice a difference, except that you only use half as much. And that's just assuming that you are on the 20mg/ml dosages, as I believe most of us are/were. It's pretty easy to measure out with the 3ml syringes.

Yes AFAIK 40mg/ml is the only type available right now and maybe that's again only the Perrigo generic.
You may need your script changed to use that if you can find it.

This probably doesn't help but it's widely available in Asia manufactured by Bayer under the brand name Progynova.

I was able to get 20mg/mL through ScriptDash (San Francisco Bay Area). They said they were just starting to get it in again.

Walgreens couldn't get it from their distributor, but found it in a area store and got it in today, I am picking it up tomorrow.

I believe this is the oral and not injectable (Progynon Depot) form.

CVS told me they could get 40 mg/ml yesterday. I'll keep checking back for the 20. I just want it this year for insurance purposes. I have enough for another 7 or 8 injections/weeks.

Read the package insert, Estradiol Valerate says throw it away after 28 days, I thought it has to do with the oil they use as a base, but may be related to the opened container. The package of my last dose said February 2018.

The estradiol valerate that I use, dissolved in sesame oil, compounded by a pharmacy, is good for 3 months.

I hope that's not a result of the new formula they are now using, otherwise I'm sticking to my compounding pharmacy as it didn't used to that way that I remember. A vial usually last me 5-6 weeks (my compounding pharmacy vials last over 7 weeks since it's 30mg/mL instead of 20mg/mL.)

Wow...the estradiol cypionate I was getting had an expiry like 18 months from date of purchase. The stuff I get now from a compounder is like 90 days.

This is why proper storage of medication is critical for it to maintain it's effectiveness. Improper storage and even 28 days is far to long.

The EV I got from Walmart 2 weeks ago (made by Perrigo) has a 8/18 exp. date. And it was from a new shipment.

With compound pharmacies, the expiry date is shorter, I think, due to the fact that only oil is used whereas with pharmaceutical companies, they also use other substances (alcohol) to help preserve it for much longer.

Probably another good reason to go to a compounding pharmacy. That....and I pay 35 percent of what wallyworld charged me for my E.

Full price at the local pharmacy is $80 for a vial that lasts me about 8 months (I'm lucky in that I only about 1/4 the normal dose to achieve an E level in the low 200s).
In fact I'm only paying $10 per vial with insurance but I'd be fine at $10/month, the difference isn't worth going to a compounding lab to me. The scale and cleanliness levels and manufacture controls possible in a modern pharma packaging line are well worth it in peace of mind. It would also be rationale for the longer shelf life. I've worked with these systems and trust them.

Sadie has a point about Compounding Pharmacies. It would behoove anyone that uses one to go to:
http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/PharmacyCompounding/ucm339771.htm (http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/PharmacyCompounding/ucm339771.htm)
and establish that whomever they may use, is in compliance of the sanitation guidelines as well as numerous other areas of concern. It is ultimately our responsibility to take care of our precious health. No one but us has the vested interest in our bodies that we do. ;)

Progynova is also widely available in Australia and on the PBS Scheme, making it very price effective. This what I take

Generic Estradiol Valerate is available in 20mg/ml vials in my area (Midwest US). It's not the branded "Delestrogen" company but rather a generic. I don't have pricing, sorry.

Yes, delestrogen is made by Par pharma and they're not back into production.
AFAIK the only other FDA approved source is Perrigo and the last I knew they were only shipping 40mg/ml, good to know that 20 is also being produced.
Current status is its limited availability, I don't know how that shortfall compares to demand.

I was fortunate enough to have my local pharmacy fill my prescription about a month ago, but the delay caused me to go back on orals for about a month. I use a compounding pharmacy out of Portland, my doctor recommended.
I am really hoping that it gets back into regular production soon. This along with all those stoopid bathroom bills have made this last year the most frustrating.

You should be able to get EV generic now. CVS and Cosco both can get it. I didn't check others since CVS is where my plan is accepted.

It's still impossible to find in my area so I've given up for now. Starting EC tomorrow morning when I have my first injection at the doctors office. Hopefully I see nice results with every other week EC injections over 3x daily sublingual pills. At the very least I'll be able to sleep and no nighttime insomnia due to the nighttime dose. Maybe by the summer EV will have reliable stock here.
