Title: GCS with Dr. Salgado, University of Miami. Help!
Post by: tgthrowaway89 on December 06, 2016, 07:33:08 PM
Hi everyone! I'm MTF, scheduled for surgery with Dr. Christopher Salgado at the University of Miami next year. He has written several book chapters, and published papers on GCS, but since he works at a University there are limited accesses to his results pictures. I can also find essentially NOTHING online about him, either on these boards, ->-bleeped-<-, Google, etc. Would anyone have any experience with Dr. Salgado, both good or bad, or know anyone that has? I really want to know. He's pretty perfect for me location wise, and I've heard a couple anecdotal good things, but I want to be sure. Any help would be much appreciated! =]

I always thought he was a female to male surgeon 👨‍⚕️ ? I heard his name once and that was only for top surgery

Well, I did see a YouTube video about his top surgery, but he has written papers on MTF bottom surgery, and has a lot of experience with those procedures. Just can't find any first hand experiences to listen to! =[

There isn't really very much on him and what their is mostly deals with FTM. You can find it by clicking on Forums on the top of the screen and then place his last name in the forum search on the right.

Hey Emily! It's not allowing me to PM, I assume because I'm a new user, I don't use these boards much. I would really, REALLY appreciate that first hand info from you friend though! =]

Thanks for the info Dena, I did see that! =] I'm asking here again to try to glean any new information, I hope you understand.

Why not have it in the public forum so others can somewhat get a review on this doc ?

The forums are a place to ask questions and often the questions uncover information that wasn't on the site before. Through this process doctors have been added to the list that people consider. Possibly you questions will add to the site knowledge.

My surgery was in 1982 so my knowledge of most of the surgeons has been learned while reviewing posts so I am limited in the information I can provide. Other have done much more research on surgeons because they have to decide who they are going to use. Yes we understand and you are using the site as it was intended to be used.

Hi, Emily told me about your post. I was done by Salgados group on 12/08/2015. U of M is a teaching hospital. He does not necessarily do the operations .  Google his name with reviews. Also look at my previous posts there is one concerning him . When you reach 15 posts pm me there is a doctor in Tampa who has all five stars and I have met with him and was very impressed. Others here have been to him. Good luck and stay away from Miami.
