The National Center for Transgender Equality today released the findings of the largest ever survey of trans people in the US, which reached 27,715 respondents from across the US. "

I'm not. I don't worry about it. Chances are that nothing would happen where I am. But, if it came down to it, I could defend myself. If some goof actually tried to raise a stink, I would just show any security people my I.D. and make the accuser look like a fool. Screw the people that want to make trouble.

Me too but, I also acknowledge greater situational awareness and preparation if confronted

I  use a cane to walk so it comes in handy

I go when I need to go but I am always on high alert these days. You never know when you'll run into bigots/danger.

I've practiced preparation and high situational awareness since grade school. :'(

It's usually not a problem. Every once in a while I see a group of men standing just outside the ladies restroom, and I'll avoid that one.

Maybe they're waiting for spouses, maybe something else.

I'd like to see anyone try and stop me from using the correct facility. You need to be safety aware for sure.

I frequently stand outside of the women's restroom waiting for my wife? No inappropriate intentions.  I would go in with her if that was acceptable.

My fiancé has waited outside the women's bathroom many a time for me as well so it is definitely possible that is all they were doing too. Hugs

Sure, they are most likely just waiting for their SO.  And what happens if one woman hollers that there's a man in the restroom?  I'm sort of small, and at my age wouldn't sustain a beating very well.  That's why I'll just pass, thanks.

I don't know how trans-friendly the folks outside (or their SOs inside) might be, and in a land where 'news' programs and talk shows are devoted to the 'transgender menace', this is too risky for me.

For as long as I have lived in Texas, it has never been an issue. I know how funny that sounds. Remember: if you act suspicious, that raises red flags. The bigots are looking for red flags.

I would always use the female restroom. Never thought twice about it. Its your confidence that you are now female that eminates, and females come in all shape and sizes.  Its just the way you come accross. I guess RLE after my srs in Bangkok has allowed me to be fully a female and this confidence now allows me to feel like a woman anywhere I travel.
