Title: Hi Everyone
Post by: OCTrisha on December 11, 2016, 11:40:50 PM
Hello everyone,

I've been lurking around here for a little while, so I thought I would finally make a formal introduction...

I just turned 40 and have spent the last couple years slowly trying to really learn who I am.  Despite fighting these feelings my whole life, the recent change of accepting myself has made me feel really good (if not completely scared at times).  This is still a process for me and I'm not sure where all of this will end up, but I value the community that has been put together here and all of the insight that is shared.

Thanks again,
Trish

Welcome to the site.  Most of us have fought those feelings for a long time.   What good does it do to to fight it? If it's what you really are then fighting it is all really just wasted energy. Imagine the energy you will have to put to other good use if you can finally quit fighting it.   You're definitely not alone.  I lurked for a lot more than a little while and then joined the site a year ago.   It's been a wonderful journey. And it just keeps getting better.  I'm sure you'll like it here.

I would have never realized my dream without Susans. I have gone around my whole life thinking, because I wanted to be a woman, I was somehow damaged goods and they convinced me I was a danger to society. So I internalized. I feel like Rip Van Winkle after the big sleep. Since coming here last February I have found, I am not alone, I am not a danger to society but rather the other way around. I really am not just a crossdresser with a fetish. But an honest, if not exactly like, a real life woman. Each day I find more and more compelling evidence that I just might make this work. Having the family backing is a big step and after close to a year I consider Susans to be home, and you my friends, family.

<3 Dawn

Very well said Dawn. Even I consider this group as family. I just feel happy and relieved when I talk here.
The people here are so nice, it makes my heart melt.
