Title: Struggling to find my new name D: anyone wanna help/give advice or pointers?
Post by: Kadence1 on December 12, 2016, 02:24:19 PM
Hello everyone!! So I've decided I am going to start taking HRT again in January as well as come out to everyone that doesn't already know (half of my family, Facebook, etc.) anyways, before I do that, I want to have a name picked and ready to use! I've been stuck on a few names for a while now, but can't narrow it down to one!! I want it to fit me, and I want it to be cute, not too common, and something that would fit my lifestyle.

I'm a YouTuber, Makeup Artist, and Model, so something that would "fit" that. My style is trendy/glam/sexy and sometimes elegant. I posted a picture of myself so you can attach a name to it :) which name(s) do you like better? Feel free to add more to the list!! My last name is Pinder (Pin-der)

Thanks everyone!!! Looking forward to responses (;

NAMES:

Kadence (Kay-dense)

Dakota

Kennedi

Kali

You look like a "Paige" or a "Morgan" to me. Paige doesn't go with the last name though. How about "Tori?"

Kali sounds really nice, and goes well with your last name.

Kali and "cute" don't really go hand in hand, haha. At least not as far as Buddhism is concerned. ;D

Try to imagine you're at a party, and someone called out to you above the noise, by each of those names. Which would resonate with you most? If any.

Well if you want the input of an older person, I like Kadence with Dakota as a middle name.  So then you have the option of using either one of them or even initials KD which is, to me, kind of cute.

As I read the list - Dakota struck me, then I got to Kali and thought - that's it - you look like a Kali to me.

mine was simple I just used my birth name aka  Greta Garbo or Stephaniec Garbo   kind of French sounding  .  I think I might be some what biased, ok maybe just wishful thinking or how about Stephaniec Diabla

Out of your suggestions I like Kali.  It fits your look  (very cute btw)
If you go with Kennedy spell it with a y and not i.  Doesn't look right to me with the i.
Just thought of this, how about Kaylee?

When making decisions it's sometimes useful to look at it from the other side: instead of choosing a name from the list, try to figure out what name would be hardest not to choose. If you feel there's a clear winner, go for that one. It could at least help you to trim the list a bit.

Alternatively, choose between two names by throwing a coin. While the coin is in the air, you may feel the slightest preference for eg. tails. Then there you have it, now ignore the result (go by what you felt) and go for the next toss.

I looked up the top 100 baby girl names from the year I was born.  The one that felt like me was right in the middle of the list.  I wanted a name that fit my age.
