Can't remember if I asked but I'm just wondering, can you become immune to hormone replacement therapy?

Not sure. Have you had your hormone levels checked recently?

Asking if it's possible to become immune so I can have peace of mind.

Well women can still get acne either way. The way I've kind of experienced it is that you give the body hormones and then it regulates it to a certain extent. I haven't really had any pimples since I started hrt, but I can assure you that it's rare for hrt to not be effective. If it isn't effective it could come down to the type or delievery or the manufacture of your HRT. It can also just be you haven't gotten the right levels yet or the food you eat, etc. There is a lot of factors to consider.

I'm taking pills and I'm splitting the dose so I can have constant hormone flow. The hormone pills I've been taking havnt changed in appearance so they have to be the same manufacturer.

Quote from: Angélique LaCava on January 06, 2017, 12:45:44 PMNo matter how constant the hormone flow is, your body will still try to regulate it to an extent, which in my opinion would explain how some trans women have periods like myself. Honestly it could just be a reaction your body is having, giving you puberty like acne o.o

You may want to ask your doctor to try injections or patches.
I was on pills and they kept raising my dosage but could never get my E levels over 135 (we wanted 400)
Switching to injections immediately kicked me up to 810, we adjusted dosage to get me down to 400 and I've felt great ever since.

Women can get pimples and post surgical, I have had issues with pimples. It's also possible if you are on progesterone that you will be more likely to have issues with pimples. Unless you are on an extremely low dosage, estrogen will always have some effect on you. With my levels at a quarter what yours are, my body was able to develop so I suspect your pimples are due to the fact you are incline to get them.

Angelique
Back when I was a boy in high school I had acne. I washed my face raw every day trying to get rid of them. Then I started shaving everyday. Ironically I was about 24 years old by then and had met my first wife and she loved to kiss. Shaving saved the day as once I got on a daily regimen the acne went away except for the poc marks. Are you far enough along with electrolysis that you no longer shave? I know I go three, four days without shaving between appointments so they can see which hair to pluck. I have seen a pimple or two but nothing to be alarmed about. One last question. Do you sleep with your makeup on? If so take it off each night, and you may want to check your moisturizer for oil. http://www.harpersbazaar.com/beauty/skin-care/g5774/best-oil-free-moisturizers/?slide=1

I've found a lot of my acne comes from my diet. Certain foods, and especially anything with HFCS, or any other chemical variation of what is supposed to be sugar will cause my face, chest and back to break out. I can sneak in one Three Musketeers if the urge hit but doing another candy bar within another week or two forget it.

its the oil on the skin that promotes them. wash with a very warm cloth and then switch to a cool cloth. the cool cloth as the effect of closing the pores

This is something I fear too as for that past month I've been getting some pimples here and there that go away after a few days or so, fluid from .... seems much increased compared to months ago though not anywhere near pre HRT, and morning erections seemed to be happening more. Asked my doctor to have my T tested (It was 34ng/dL at the 2 month mark, 2 weeks shy of 8 months now) and he said since I'm on the max dose of finasteride, and spiro that he typically finds no need to test T levels (The Finasteride was added in November) doctor did increase my spiro to a dosage that is higher then the typical max dose spiro dosage though but when I see him on the 13th of this month I'll try to beg for a test just to put my mind at ease at least and catch anything that might be amiss.
