Title: Hello everyone. I'm new to forums as well as this place.
Post by: Opie on January 22, 2017, 08:09:01 PM
I'm here because I'm at the end of my rope and I really need some help. I'm a 46 year old genetic male that should have gone through my transition years ago. I'm with a woman that I love dearly, but she is not supportive of me transitioning. I can't live like this anymore! So I hope to meet some people to help me get through this craziness.

Welcome to Susan's Place.  I think this might be the right place to find that help, as many of us have been in this same tough place.

One of the official folks will be along shortly with some helpful links.

Meanwhile, what can we do for you?  How do you see yourself moving forward from here?

Hi Opie, Welcome to Susan's

I am new here as well and have found the resources on the site very useful. I think you will find that a lot of the girls have gone through the same thing you are going through.

This will be one of the hardest decisions you will ever have to make in life. Choose the woman you luv in marriage or the women you luv inside yourself.

My suggestion, you each find a physiologist you can work with.  You will need one for getting the letter to see an endocrinologist and start hormones. You can also discuss your feelings which will make you feel better inside and get things out so you don't drag yourself down all the time.

I believe its very important that your wife can talk to someone about this thats outside of family and friends.
Remember she has feelings and of course she didn't sign up for this so try to be compassionate and understanding.

Be positive as best you can and have lots of conversations with her, use all the resources here and talk with other members and Im sure you will get through this as we all have.

Again welcome to Susan's and I wish you all the best.

Huggs Niki

Hi Opie,

Same issue I have been going through for a while now. The things that have held it together for me are:
1) Dont give up on who you are for someone else
2) Be as patient and understanding as possible, its gonna be what I have termed "the road"
3) Let her know you still love her (often)
4) Get support, from therapy, or at least on the forums
5) Dont give up on who you are (I know, I said that before. It's the most important thing)

We're here for you.

Welcome Opie,

I'm just a little bit older than you and what i feel to say is that you shouldn't have gone through your transition years ago, for the simple reason that you didn't - but, you can go through your transition NOW!

Like you i started mine when i felt i was at the very end of my rope, there was nothing left to grasp ... so i had to jump lol ...

Now, after less than 1 year of gender therapy i'm going to start hrt.

Hrt it's a great step, at least for me it is, but things started to change from the very beginning of the acceptance of being trans.

The first steps are the harder ones, the first is the hardest - for me it has been that way.

After the first step, the other ones will follow ...

Self-acceptance has been the Master Key for me. Now, my self esteem is very much better, i'm prouder of myself, and much more trustful in Life and in myself.

In the beginning everything may look "scaring" and quiet impossible, but don't get discouraged, take your time and move on.

It's a Worthy path! Every little progress will let grow your trust in yourself ... and a new kind of joy is there ... it's not that far ... just move the first steps ...

It's not a craziness, it's your inner nature that needs to be expressed, it needs just some space, some room to express itself ... yourself as you are.

It's something very healthy and beautiful! It's vital!!! Take care!!!

:)

Best Whishes!!!!!

:)
