Title: Lurker stops lurking for a minute to say hi
Post by: abby535 on January 24, 2017, 03:18:41 PM
Hello all,

I think this is the place I was looking for. I'm a 38 year old genetic male, and recently been struggling with myself. I've been in and out of crippling depression since my teens, carried around body dismorphia since my early 20s, and been cross dressing for many years. My "well, duh" moment was realising that perhaps these three things were connected to each other [emoji23]

I discovered this forum yesterday and have been devouring information. I think many of the answers I seek are to be found here. From what I see a lot of y'all are really good folks and I felt inspired to join and say hey.

Hey [emoji4]

Hi Abby,

I'm new here myself having joined yesterday. I would like to welcome you and congratulate you on your quick realization that you should find others like yourself. I say quick because it's taken me 64 years to stop lurking.

Hope you find what you need.

  Jeanette

Welcome to Susan's Place Abby. I already took care of Jeanette yesterday so that one is out of the way. Anyway, as you are discovering, this site contains a tremendous amount of information and if you can't find it, ask. I spend about 8 hours a days on the site and can barely keep up with all the posting taking place. Unlike you, I was drawn here for voice feminization surgery and found that many people had questions they needed answered. I think you will find your new life here what ever it is.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Hey Jeanette [emoji16] you say it's quick, but the slap to my forehead was mighty when I finally realised what may be the cause of my difficulties [emoji23] I guess I have some time to really consider what's happening and how to deal with it all, and I think I may have found the right people to talk to, because nobody else knows.

Yet [emoji6]

Thankyou for your kind welcome Dena, and I will dutifully follow the rules. [emoji6] How did I find Susan's? I googled "am I transgender" and after doing a couple of quizzes (and getting really annoyed at some of the questions - yes, I can parallel park very well, thankyou) I found some threads from here and became engrossed. I didn't even have a girl name until I made my user account today - it's quite similar to my boy name, which I don't hate...just not sure it fits me any more. [emoji848]

Spambots are some of our least favorite members but some are eliminated before they ever get in. We still get enough spam to keep things interesting. Things will get better once the software is sure who you are, but it takes a few posts.

Picking your name can always be fun. I found mine on a license plate in a parking lot and it's similar to my male name as well. On the other hand, if you like finding names, we have some members who haven't decided on a name and are taking suggestions. There is plenty to pass your time with here, just be careful how addicted to the site you are.

I'll allow myself to get addicted to the site Dena, there's a lot I need to know now I have a 'focus' - up until very recently I was certain that I was just a chronically depressed guy who liked dresses and ladies shoes and had an obsession with hiding his boy bits from himself - the distinct possibility that I may actually be a woman is a revelation. It's exciting and terrifying and somehow soothing all at the same time. I intend to find out [emoji4]

Hi Abby and Jeanette,
Welcome, come on in, the water is warm. Glad you have decided to make yourself known. We don't bite. Well there was that one time but I apologized and did my community service hours. >:-) Seriously, this is a great place to learn, vent, and help others with your knowledge. People are nice too.

Thanks Monica [emoji4] personally I have no problem with biting, as with everything consent is key. As you've done your community service, I shall not judge [emoji6]

Lurkers, Susaholics, Biters, this is my kind of thread!

Welcome Abby! The volume of posts here is enormous, each one made by someone like you or I. A big part of what makes this place great is seeing that you're not alone. People come and people go, but their words stay and leave a lovely trail for others to follow. See you on the path.

Hugs, Devlyn
