Ok so up till now I've just used some herbals that are supposed to reduce HGT conversion and lower Tproduction in the body. Seems like it must be working some. My wife said the other day that my arms were smaller looking and flabbier.
Well today while brushing my teeth I noticed my elbow sticking out what to me seemed grossly more than ever before. I guess I didn't realize my forearm muscle would reduce and make my elbow bone, the ulna, stick out so much. I looked at images online and appearantly it's pretty common when women cross their arms for it to stick out. I've just never seen it like that on my arm before.

Oh yeah kiss that man muscle good bye. I have lost an insane amount of muscle the few months I have been on hrt. Some loss that I have experienced may be to the aggressive weight loss I have experienced from diet and exercise but there has been quite a rapid departure of muscle

I am thinking this may be an individual side effect? I am 5'10" 145 pounds. My weight hasn't changed at all over the 8 years I have been on my medication and I am just a strong as I ever was.

I hear everyone reacts to the medication differently.
I do a lot of cardio and still lift weights although I was never buff, but I definitely lost a lot of muscle in the arms. The rest of the body... in my own opinion... looks very toned compared to what I've seen of others.

I have lost a some muscle in my upper body, but really haven't noticed any substantive strength loss. I believe my legs have retained most or all of their muscle and they were fairly big to begin with.
The one thing I did lose a lot of was red blood cells and even that was probably largely self inflicted by too frequent blood donations last year.

I can speak to losing muscle mass depending on the type of excercise you do, I have been running pretty consistently for the last 2 years and have noticed that my muscels are getting longer and less bulky. I still have the strength, just not the mass. Where I noticed this most is in my arms, my biceps in particular looked very feminine when I wore this new turtleneck. I was actually taken aback a bit by how my arms looked.
Now I have also noticed this muscle mass loss in my thighs, as they are also becoming leaner. I am planning on adding specific leg and glute training to my workout regimen when I return from Seoul next month. Whether that means joining a gym or figuring out something in my home gym (aka my garage) is still to be determined :)

I know I've lost some strength lately. As my winter work schedule has picked up I've found lifting the 100 lb machine lift on and off the the back of the truck has become a bit more difficult. I quite honestly don't mind. It just struck me as so different seeing my elbow this morning. I expect my time before needing another occupation will be shorter than I might have thought it to be.

From the time I started HRT until reaching my lowest weight I lost about 90 lbs, and at least half of that was muscle, maybe even 60%. I was a formidable person before HRT, though my bones were always light for a 'male', they are medium-light for a woman. I can't do even a fraction of the work I used to be able to do without tiring and possibly straining my remaining muscles. I have to constantly remind myself that my body cannot do what my old memories believe it can, lol.
I have been oh HRT over 5 years, and I continue to 'down-size', even now..
For me, this is a good thing.
