Title: ? About Dr Brassard wait times
Post by: jynx81 on January 27, 2017, 09:27:33 AM
So my Dr send my referrals to dr Brassard in early December.  My undrstanding is that he's got a 3 Monty wait list, but they've had all my papers (referral letters, the patient questionaire, funding letter from the privince with a break down of the costs dr. Brassards office gave them etc) for about a month and a half and nobody has called me to schedule my surgery. Is that normal? Or are they maybe missing a document or something and I didn't get the memo ( they were missing my psych letters, I got an email about that on Dec 7th) so I got my Dr.  To fax them (according to her office they were sent in early Dec.) But I havnt gotten any kind of confirmation that they've been received and when i called to inquire about my surgery date I was told they were reviewing it and I should just wait for a phone call, but it's February next week. Is that normal? Am I just freaking out for nothing? Or what should I do

Keep on calling them. They are really bad in that aspect.

I coordinated mine 100% thru email.  I have never spoken to them on the phone.  :D  Suzanne or Josie would reply to me pretty quickly via email, even when I just asked for status updates.  Might give that a try?

While waiting for them to approve you at the hospital it can take several months. Like mine originally went to them in sept. I finally got my day in November. So just be patient they will get too you

I took jfong's advice and called them today. The receptionist told me it could be up to 10 weeks. But I got a call about 10 minutes later from a woman in the preop team who was going over my file, she told me they were missing a few details from the letter from my gp about my hormones and when I'd started. I'd put the info on the forms I filled out, but they wanted it in thr letter from my Dr. She gave me number to get ahold of her at and a fax number to send the revised letter to. I have an appointment with my go to get it dealt with on Monday. So I'm pretty pumped, things finally feel like they're moving forward again.

Thanks everybody that replied.
