Title: Hi
Post by: Valleys Girl on January 28, 2017, 07:11:41 PM
Hi,

I am fairly new to all this having repressed everything for many years and am still quite unsure of myself.

I haven't decided on any sort of proper female name as yet but decided on Valleys Girl as I live in a certain part of the UK which has plenty of valleys  ;D

Most of my confusion is about where this is leading and how, if ever, do I tell my family etc. At present I have only dressed when no-one else is home.

Welcome to Susan's Place. When I saw the name as a new member, I thought you were from southern California where the term Valley Girl was coined. In any case, there are many people on the site who have done what you are about to do and they are more than willing to share what they know. You only need to ask your questions and I suspect you will have several answers to your questions. As for where it will lead, only time will tell. It will depend on what it takes to make you comfortable and only you can provide the answer to that.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Hello there, and welcome to you.

Nice to see someone else from the UK. And as Dena mentioned, only time will tell. I've only been on this forum a day, and personally I've found out quite a bit more about myself than I was thought I would haha.

Enjoy your stay, and happy searching.

Hi!

Welcome! I joined a couple days ago myself, everyone is very friendly and often helpful, I'm sure you'll get plenty of good answers to any questions you may have so dont hesitate to ask them! I'm MtF and started my slow, clumsy journey about 7 years ago. If there's anything you think I could be of assistance with, please don't hesitate to ask.

Best of luck on your journey and with everything thats gona happen in your life if you decide this is truly for you. I would recommend getting in touch with whatever clinic deals with transpeople in your country as soon as you can for an apointment, to start working though those thoughts and feelings and start getting a clear image of who you are and what you want. I don't want to seem harsh, this is how I did it and it really helped me lots once I found the right professionals.

Thank you all for those kind words. I will probably lurk around for a while reading all your interesting stories.

As I said earlier, I am finding things confused at present and as with most people life isn't as simple or easy as some like to have you believe. I probably have some extra hurdles to overcome insofar as I care for a disabled relative on a part time basis which is something which I will have to consider when deciding how to continue on this path I find myself.

Hi and welcome Valleys Girl

It's not a bad think to be unsure "where this is leading". Tee important thing is you have made the decision to start. There are a lot of us in that boat with you.
Like you, I "repressed everything for many years", dressing in secret when I could. Very few know about it. I am current living with a sister and dress almost every night in the privacy of my own room after she has gone to bed.
It won't be too long before thing on my chest develop to the point I will have to tell her what I am up to. I have a grown daughter and 5 grand kids, other family and friends that will have to be told too. What repercussions that will have I have no idea. I'm not looking forward to it but it is going to happen. Exactly how far I will go in this transition I am not sure. I am happy I have started, (well most of the time, Doubts and fears do pay me visits.) It is scary yet I think it is what I want. Why else did I start this balls rolling?

Hang in there and try to enjoy the ride. Remember you're not alone.
