I'm sure this is probably a silly question but since starting HRT about 9 months ago I've been on a constant effort to lose weight/exercise and eat more healthy and tea drinking was something I did daily for various benefits. Awhile ago a read some articles that seemed to mention that Green Tea in particular can cause a drop in estrogen levels and that scared me a bit and I mostly stopped drinking it and switched to Black Tea. I was just curious if there's really any truth to it or if I'm just being silly and overthinking things and should just drink the darn green tea >_< Haha

I did a search on green tea estrogen followed by black tea estrogen and pretty much the same stuff turned up. This would make sense as black tea is basically aged green tea so the components would remain pretty much the same. I don't think your estrogen levels would be affected enough to make a huge difference and if you are worried about it, just use the tea in moderation. As for me, I prefer the black tea as it has a stronger flavor.

I switched from green tea to liquorice and peppermint tea. Not good if you have high blood pressure though, so like all things in moderation.

I drink green tea all winter and mostly stop during the summer. Never had any difference in E levels.
