Hello Beauties,

I've landed on the site a few times over the last couple weeks and there's something about it I really love. Since I am starting HRT tomorrow I thought it would be a great day to connect with community online. I've been reading and appreciating a bunch of the forums and figured it was about time to say hello.

I'm really looking forward to meeting y'all in the coming weeks and months and sharing the changes I'm experiencing.

Hi, Billie! Welcome to the site.

Congratulations on starting HRT.  That is a big step for anyone.  I think you'll find lots of the women here will be happy to share their experiences.  I had an immediate feeling of euphoria, a placebo effect to be sure, but real euphoria at the thought I was starting HRT.  After about a month on spironolactone I started having long periods almost every day of feeling calm and mentally quiet.  My labs showed my testosterone level had dropped to the bottom of the male range about then.  I started estradiol via patches, and felt my energy rising.  At about two months in, that feeling of calmness and mental quiet became my normal everyday state. It was wonderful.

   Like I said I am pretty new here too. I started on estradiol and spironolactone on Dec 4th. It was only a few weeks in when my chest started being tender under the nipples and I could feel small lumps forming there.  Sure enough now almost 3 months in, I have small breasts growing on my chest. It's amazing! (I can't stop feeling them) Big enough that I no long use my breast forms as I can see them under my tops and dresses now. Oh I am still very much in the closet so no one has noticed them yet. The only ones that are aware that I am transitioning are my medical providers and soon I will add a gender therapist to that elite group. No one else except all the good people here that I share with and get help from every day.

   Soon you will know what I am talking about. It's sooo coool.

It means a lot to me to hear from someone who recently started this journey.
I feel like I'm well prepared for this and super excited at the same time.
My girlfriend of 3 years just had bottom GRS in Scottsdale Arizona and I held her hand through her BA as well.
Life is the perfect adventure & I'm loving it all.
I am 59 and feel like a kid.

Congratulations and good luck! I am still pondering whether to begin HRT or not. Perhaps I will post my reservations about it soon. But it does weigh very heavy on my heart to do so and I whole heartedly support anyone who does make the step. And I guess in a way I am jealous! LOL

Hi Roni-jalyn,

Thank you for the good luck wishes. I can understand how there can be reservations. There's a lot to take into consideration and there is a lot that you have to be willing to give up in order to make many of the gains.

This could not have happened at any other time in my life, and if it (HRT) works out well for me, and I continue, I'm prepared and excited to live with the consequences. I'm lucky in that my daughter is a true blue LGBT ally and my gf is a very supportive, post-op trans gem. The rest of my family may have a harder time but I know they love me.

My career probably won't take too much of a hit because I'm a composer & a life coach.
I've been wearing women's clothes 90% of the time for the past year and not trying to pass with makeup etc. I have been using male and female pronouns. I don't think that will change now but the hormones may have a say in that ;-)
All that said, I should keep a healthy eye out for my safety. I'm a pretty fearless person so I hope that will continue to help me with my authenticity but I have to be aware that some people will not be wishing me well.

Today is Day 2! Not much has changed except that I'm happy to be getting this show on the road.

The part where you say "this could not have happened at any other time in my life" really rings true for me also. So thanks for that, it was very affirming for me that I too am ready for change.
