Title: Life updates

So many things have happened and most of them good things!
I've finally got a psychologist and just talking through my mental illness was so therapeutic and my next appointment is Wednesday.
I found a tennis group so I'm hopeful despite being rubbish at sports [emoji23]

Good; hope you can stick with it; vaping is always a good alternative as long as you stay away from the flavoured nicotine :)

Avoid vaping, please. That 100% unnatural combination of chemicals going to every part of your body... Scares the crap out of me. Besides it looks dumb. Everyone I ever see vaping tries to hide it. Why?

I was watching a BBC Panarama documentary about vaping and they mentioned how it hasn't been thoroughly tested whether directly inhaling the flavoured chemicals in E cigs are safe. So I'd avoid just to be on the safe side. Where I live it's become very common to see people walk8ng down the road vaping. It's become more common than seeing someone smoking. At first I thought it looked naff but now it's become normalised.

The stuff I have heard about Vaping is related to a condition called "wet lung" which apparently is very bad for your longevity. I don't know much other than what articles I have seen in the news.

Quote from: ElizabethK on March 02, 2017, 05:09:33 PMThis condition is caused by inhaling diacetyl. A chemical thats used as artificial flavouring that most commonly, believe it or not, came in microwave popcorn! (I believe they also call this condition 'popcorn lung' for that reason.)

In the United States and Canada, for the most part this chemical has vanished from the face of the earth. (You will however still find the odd eliquids that still contain it at little sketchy convenience stores, for the most part actual smoking/valour shops only stock brands approved and tested by the FDA or CFIA.)
Conclusive studies havent yet been completed and tobacco companies did a LOT of spin doctoring early on since they lost literally billions when almost the entire younger market jumped ship to this new trend. The tecgnology and concept is remarkably similar to childrens vaporisors that have been filling bedrooms with steam filled with who only knows whatever people dripped into the reservoirs. (Vicks etc which arent designed to be burnt or ingested at all.)
Itll be really interesting to see what comes of it. For the most part flavoured tobacco products are mostly banned as a 'gateway' for kids to take up smoking. Already the same bilaws about smoking apply to vaping now. Soon I wager the ban hammer will fall on all flavoured products as well.

Any other methods that could work?

Very well put. It seems strange to me how here you can advertise e cigd the same way cigarettes were advertised in the 50s and how as if yet there's been no talks of banning this type of advertising as far as I'm aware.

Not a smoker but heard wearing a rubber band round your wrist and flicking it when you think of s/h can work for people who do s/h. Might work for quitting smoking. Eitherwise it's chewing gum (nicotine or normal) or patches. You might want to get advise from your GP as well who may help you finding ways to quit.
