Susan's Place Transgender Resources

Hey everyone! 

24 y/o trans man here.  I have only recently started identifying as male after doing a couple years of soul searching.  I've been working with a therapist to be more confident in myself and my identity, and I'm starting to feel like I'm ready to take the next step of coming out publicly.  While I do have a supportive girlfriend and group of friends, I know that telling my parents will be difficult.  They have always noted my masculine behaviors, dress and my preference for dating women, reminding me that I am their beautiful GIRL.  No matter how accepting they have become with my current relationship, I am aware that they will not be supportive.  I get anxious with new people, so an online community is going to be an easier way for me to connect with people who know what I'm going through and can probably give me better advice than my friends and family.

Hi and welcome to Susan's Place.  I am Jeanette (self appointed unofficial greeter). Come on in and sit right down, put your feet up and grab a beverage. In other words get comfortable, relax, read some posts that interest you, make a comment or two if  you are so inclined. Get to know us as we share our lives with you. Ask your questions, share yourself with us so we can get to know you. That's what we do here.

I am a bit older at 64 but I am new to this kind of thing. I am mtf so I cannot help you with your specific needs though there are many here that can. I recently discovered I was a trans woman and started my personal journey towards that end in December with HRT. My doctor now knows as does my oncologist and a psychiatrist all know. Soon I hope to have a gender therapist help me sort myself out. And oh yeah, everyone here knows that I am doing this thing and have been my support  all along the way.  They will do all they can to support you too.

  With that spiel I'll shut up and pass you along to the admins and moderators for their official welcome and relinquish the podium to the general population to also welcome you to Susan's Place.

Hi, Elliot!  Welcome to the site.  There's a small but active group of guys here.  You'll often find them hanging out in the Female to male transsexual talk (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,27.0.html) area.  They, as well as the rest of us, can be a great help for folks dealing with the issues around coming out and family matters.
