Title: Taking estradiol sublingually (a tedious issue?
Post by: SerenaOhSerena on March 17, 2017, 08:03:53 PM
I know this seems like such a small thing but what is the best way you take estradiol under the tongue? I feel like I'm doing it wrong. I wait 10 minutes for it to dissolve but then I just end up with a gross mess of saliva mixed estradiol in my mouth that I swallow. Is the estradiol supposed to be completely absorbed under my tongue or am I actually doing it right??

The longer you hold it, the more you will absorb. There is an old saying, if you taste it, you waste it. To get around the problem, I put the tablet between my upper jaw and my cheek. Often I can hold it there for an hour and the slow release results in almost no taste. It works best for me to put it there after finishing breakfast then hold it while I clean up the kitchen and clean up myself. I haven't had my first blood test after changing the procedure so I don't know what my current numbers are but my breast are aching more.

I take mine between cheek and gum, aka Buccal.

It is much easier to be able to continue to talk that way.

I adopted the same process as Dena and even the same time frame. It seems to work better for me than under the tongue. Make it as high up as it will go and forget it's there.

I do it the same way and try to keep it all there for 30 min before I eat or drink.
