Hi there,
I am going through the nerve-wracking process of selecting surgeons to help me complete my medical transition. I'm starting my search in the SF/Bay Area and Portland. I'm hoping that people can give me feedback on the following surgeons I've identified and maybe offer suggestions of surgeons I don't know about. I'd really appreciate it!
Esther Kim (at UCSF) - I've been encouraged because their waiting list is not a mile long. Also, UCSF has a good reputation, and I feel more secure that they adequately screen their providers for competence. They don't do bottom surgery, though. Anyone have experience with her/them?
Peter K. Davis - Again, his receptionist indicated his waiting list is not particularly brutal. I've never heard any feedback about him though. I'm really hoping someone knows about him - I don't want to go in blind!
OHSU - Drs. Berli and Dugi - I'm on their waiting lists already, but especially for Dr. Dugi and bottom surgery, I can't get a consult till December and who know how long after that I'd have to wait for surgery. I feel confident in OHSU's standards, but I haven't heard any first-hand reports of patients who have worked with these surgeons.
I contacted Marci Bowers, who of course, is famous, and unsurprisingly, her list is like 3 years out. I can't bear the thought of waiting that long. Brownstein & Crane, also in the Bay Area, told me their California surgeon, Dr. Satterwhite isn't scheduling consultations for earlier than one year out, and surgery another 1-1.5 years after that.
Anyone here navigated this waiting list problem satisfactorily? My insurance hasn't told me explicitly that I have to choose someone close in proximity to me, so maybe I should be thinking long-distance. I would greatly appreciate any help or feedback others have to offer!

There is a Dr Alexander Sinclair down in LA. . . I was considering him but decided to go with someone else before I'd finished investigating him. I was impressed with what I saw and their wait list was not very long.

I'm less than 2 weeks now from surgery with Heidi Wittenberg. Trained and approved by Satterwhite is good enough for me, coupled with a background that really impressed me.
I'll be posting my experience soon enough :-).

Dr. Kathy Rumer
Ardmore, PA (just outside of Philly)
She's only booked about 6 months out last I knew.

very happy post-op here (7 weeks).
Rumer has an engineering degree as well as an art design degree. She's an artist in my book. I've seen her post-op results in the book in her office when I went for my consult and I'm really liking what I am seeing so far as mine continues to heal.
I'm also fully sensational. Clitoral and vaginal sexual sensation. Just had my first orgasm yesterday.
