Title: Bummer! (not too bad, but still!!!)
Post by: Denise on April 17, 2017, 09:43:37 PM
I keep a pair of flats in my car because driving a stick shift with heels is ... well it's easier in flats.  I just cleaned out my car and I can't find the right shoe.  It's like totally vanished.  The only thing I can think of is it must have fallen out some where recently.  I'm bummed as I liked that pair.  Oh well, at least I still have the left one which I need for the clutch.

So now, I guess, I've only got one flat and NO the spare in the trunk ("boot" for you EMEA folk) won't work!
Sorry - I had to add that. ;)

WHAT? You haven't learned the fine art of driving barefoot? When I wear slip on dress shoes I always slip them off and drive barefoot so I don't mark them up. I started doing this the first time I went out as female.

I tried that once. It seemed like a good idea until..... My heel came to rest on the 2-3 lbs of gravel that seems to accumulate in the carpet when you live in a rocky area like West Virginia. So I stuck to putting my heels back on. Not too bad for under 2hr drives once you sort of get used to the wierd foot angle

It's also illegal to drive here foot.  Plus what Joanne said. Also repeatedly pushing a clutch with bare feet is not as simple as it sounds. (Been there, done that)

I have never owned a car without a clutch but I put the pressure on the ball of my foot. The clearance on my car is inches (dang after market lowering kit the dealer installed) so I am pretty careful about staying on pavement or hard surfaces. Very little gravel makes it into my car.
