Hey everyone!


It's been a while but I'm finally having top surgery. My surgery date is may 5th at 7:30am.
I'm so excited and so nervous. I've never been under anesthesia before either.

My biggest concern is they want me to stop testosterone for 2 weeks before surgery. But they said it really is my choice and that I understand the risks. Preferably I wouldn't like to stop.
What have you guys done regarding stopping or staying on t? Did you guys stay on when a dr told you not to?

But I'm super stoked and can't wait to see my new chest!

For top surgery, my surgeon wanted me to halve my dose a month in advance and then stop outright at two weeks pre-op. I didn't think I could comfortably go that long, so I instead halved my dose at two weeks pre-op and then stopped a week before. I don't think it had any negative effects for me. My healing was pretty quick and I had no bleeding issues, which is the concern with testosterone.

I did not have to stop at all for my hysterectomy. In fact they encouraged staying on so that I would have hormones in my body immediately post op.

For bottom surgery I was told to stop three weeks in advance. At the three week mark, I gave myself a double dose (I inject weekly so this is what my dose would be for biweekly shots) and stopped after that. I have had some minor bleeding issues, but I think that is mostly due to the vaginectomy being a bloody ordeal in itself and nothing to do with testosterone.

My top surgeon (Garramone), nor my lower surgeon (Crane), requested I stop testosterone.

Cis men don't stop their T either for surgeries.   ;D

How would a cis guy stop his T?

I'm really iffy about stopping. I know two people who went to my surgeon and one stopped and another continued.
Maybe I'll call my dr and ask him if I should do a double dose. One of my biggest concerns is I still need to get blood work done after surgery for my endo and I don't want my results all wonky.

If you have exact start/stop dates to tell your endo, it shouldn't be a big deal.

That was my point.  He couldn't.  So why do we have to?

Hey guys. I'm 4 days post op now. But I was wondering if bloating is normal after surgery. I feel so bloated. I'm assuming it's from not having regular bowel movements
