Title: What Was Your Favorite Toy?

Though I knew I wanted to be a girl since I was 4, I never liked playing with dolls. This was my favorite toy as a kid:

I remember my mom took it away from me one day after me playing with it got on her last nerve and "accidentally" dropped it on my head. I don't remember playing with it much after that. Explains a lot.
To this day I have lots of tools in my garage, love DIY projects, crafts, artwork, and Harbor Freight is one of my favorite stores. Also, I loved my old erector set.

My bear. I still miss him.
He's missing in action, hopefully with another who loves him too, as he was given away without my knowledge.

I think it strange that I cannot think of a favorite toy at all. I can tell you I didn't play with dolls nor did I care for the army men and war toys all the boys my age were playing with. but as for toys I liked when I was a young child I couldn't tell you. As I got older I remember playing card games and discovering books. I grew up an avid reader.
I remember marbles.. I had marbles. Some very very pretty and my favorites. I did play marbles with other kids.
It's sad because I had to come back and edit this post when I remember the marbles.
I think I've lost mine,
Jeanette
I now remember I thought my sister's paper dolls were neat and an Easy Bake oven. But of course I didn't get to play with those much.

Sticks. I was a big fan of sticks. Sticks can be laser swords, they can stir up puddles, they can be pretend fishing poles, they make a cool noise when you whip them through the air.
My parents were nice enough to buy me all kinds of toys, but I liked the sticks. I imagine this is like whatever it is that induces cats to ignore their own toys and go play with the boxes. (Actually, I liked boxes too, the bigger the better.)

Oh yes! Boxes, big boxes and blanket forts. In California we even used tumble weeds to make forts.

My favorite recreation was actually reading. I guess I was a nerd, LOL.
But for toys that I actually had, I liked building with my Lincoln Logs and Erector Set the best.

That's a trip down Memory Lane! :) I liked Don't Break The Ice and I had an Etch A Sketch. I cleared it once so all the internals were visible. I spiraled into the center. Turned out to be the story of my life!

Building sets like blocks, Lincoln logs, erector set and some thing with plastic girders and window panels. But I went through a couple of years playing with troll dolls a lot.

I remember many toys and I still have most. I remember my late mother gave many to me. Then I feel sad because she passed away last year and I'd not seen her in the 4 years before.

I remember my grandpa saying, "By G-d, if he's gonna play with dolls, he'll play with manly dolls!"
So my GI Joe "action figure" craze began. The good ones, with Kung Fu grip. I had boxes and boxes of his war stuff (Vietnam, cold war era) and adventure stuff. And yes, the Joes had occasional flings with the girls next door (my sisters' Barbies).
My parents disposed all of it when I went in the AF...it'd be worth millions now.
Well...maybe thousands.
A few hundred?
It would've been worth more than that to me.

Did you ever play jacks, hop scotch, 4 square, tether ball with the girls. I did. Until I discovered baseball. But heck girls play baseball.

YES! I forgot that. I was pretty good at jacks too. I liked hopscotch. Everybody at school played 4 square and tether ball.
Thanks for the memories... Shades of Bob Hope !!

Parents often complained I would get more fun out of a box that something came in than the toy itself. Which was probably true.

Lego without a doubt. My sister was hardcore into Barbies and we would play together in the same "world" where my Lego guys were "little people" hiding from the big people...
It always upset my father that I wasn't into sports at all especially baseball because that was his passion.

Hard to remember, I used to really love stuffed animals when I was like 2-3, they used to sell giant ones in Costco and I would be able to get one on special occasions, I then liked Lego and was also into collecting things (soccer football sticker books) although I hated sports I just liked filling up the book, was satisfying.

Anything I could make something with, Legos (although my parents always bought me Megablocks 😒), playdough, paints, ect. I liked being creative. I also spent a good amount of time with my GameCube and skateboard.

My imagination!
I oftened played pretend rather than playing with toys. My fascination with toys never lasted very long. If I have to pick one, I have to say my favorite toys were stuffed animals. I still have some to this day, and I can't sleep without my stuffed cat.
My dad has told me that I need to give up the stuffed animals if I'm going to be a man but I don't really see the need to.
