Title: Speak to me of chocolate... (or other sweets)
Post by: dusty97 on April 26, 2017, 01:36:37 PM
Just for funzies....

Well, what's your favourite? What can't you stand? How do you curb the cravings (if you have any, or if you curb them at all!)?

Personally, I love just about anything with chocolate- milk, white, dark, etc.... But my favourite has to be Cadbury's, hands down. I can't pick a favourite particular bar of theirs, but their recipes just taste the best to me.
Can't stand coconut. Love the smell, but I can't do the taste and texture of it.

I get sugar cravings- haven't perfected any good, substantial ways to deal with the "need" for it besides sheer willpower... Sometimes eating something salty or drinking a bottle of water helps, though.

Not into candy really. My wife is a carb freak, while I would go paleo if I could. The only thing I like occasionally is peanut m&ms or a Reese's peanut butter cup,but it's the peanut butter I like more.

Milk chocolate! All kinds, creamy and rich oh so good. Fannie May filled assortments are one of my favorites. Then there's white chocolate OMG I'll sit and eat that until it's all gone.

Dark chocolate. I like making candy, too. I've done taffies, toffies, brittles, and hard candy. Molasses seafoam is on the to-do list. So hot, so dangerous....I love boiling sugar!   >:-)

Hugs, Devlyn

I love making caramel and dipping it in dark chocolate for Christmas. Homemade peanut butter cups are fun too!

Montezuma Absolute Black 100% dark chocolate. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but if you like really dark chocolate it is hard to beat.

I can't stand Skittles. I though I had a bag of M&M's. When you are expecting a mouthful of chocolate and get Skittles instead it is a very unhappy experience.

Chocolate mousse; I'm talking the thick muddy kind, not that light airy foamy stuff.

Dark chocolate with a bit of orange, orange rind, or orange oil mixed in.     I shared some with a friend, and we were both all "OMG!"  ;D

MMMMMMMMMMM Chocolate...chocolate and orange...yummy combination....I go to this chocolatier that does a breakfast Belgium waffle with liquid chocolate, strawberries and Ice cream and I always order extra chocolate....just amazing...they do both dark and milk chocolate....I know dark is better for me but my preference is milk chocolate as I grew up with Cadbury Milk Chocolate...my Mum and Dad were always buggers for Dark Chocolate. Rum and raisin being their favourite...

Fresh ripe (not those green ones) coconut is real good in chunks or fresh shredded.

What are you doing bad mouthing my whoppers?

I realy really like 3 Musketeers but I don't get much candy now that I'm diabetic.  :'( :'(

Hugs,
  Laura or Jeanette

Yes, I am guilty here.  I loathe them.
Puffed air with just enough chocolate that it makes you feel like you need an actual candy bar after eating them.  :icon_mrgreen:  I would not even classify them as candy primers...lol.

Dark chocolate (60-70%) with ginger. Sweet, smooth and sharp all in the same bite.

Chocolate with chile is also good, more of a southwestern US thing...

Dark chocolate, at least 70%.  The best ever is Denman Island chocolate: the guy gets it unbelievably smooth.  I just tried one from Italy, called Perugrino or something like that.  Gotta look for it again; it was good!

The best ever: chocolate and red wine!  Oh, my!!

I do a lot of baking and desserts.
I get the 11 pound (5Kg) bars of Belgian chocolate: Milk, Semi-Sweet (35%), Dark (65%), 100%, and White.

If we're taking chocolate straight up,  then it's Cadbury's Dairy Milk,  bit of a British institution.

I start every day with a cup or two of hazelnut coffee and cocoa.  After that it is a will power struggle to say yes to self control and no to the glorious delights of all things sweet and yummy.

Some days i win and work off the calories with power walking.  Other days i wallow in the wonders of cookies, candy and cake....now I'm hungry again, oh girl :-\
