Title: How soon should you moisturise after shaving legs?

Thought I'd followed usual advice quite well. Hot bath, exfoliated, shaved legs with decent quality razor, then moisturised about five minutes or so after getting dry. However, legs now very hot. Did I moisturise too soon?

I use unscented lotion directly after towelling off and have no sting. I like to moisturize while my skin is still warm.

I don't really have a time frame I follow, usually after I finish drying off. My go to has been Aveeno sheer hydration, but I have been using coconut oil lately with great success.

I usually shower at night, so on evenings that I shave (typically once per week) I usually just make sure to lotion up as part of my bedtime routine. That's mostly just because I'm too lazy to do it right after getting out of the shower.

Immediately. If it hurts, that's just a little razor burn that you'd likely feel even if you waited longer.

I usually shave my legs before taking a shower then towel off and moisturize... no problems yet. I shave with a shick ladies 4 blade razor that supplies it's own shave/ moisturizing lotion... Just wet legs and shave. (you can wipe off the excess and be done if you want)

I usually shave in the shower and then use Jergen's wet skin moisturizer immediately after (as the name suggests you apply it while your skin is still wet). I've never had a problem with burning or similar issues to what you describe. If this was your first time shaving or if you haven't shaved much, it's entirely possible that your skin is just irritated in general and may not have anything to do with the moisturizer. The first few times I shaved my legs I had quite a bit of irritation.

I find sometimes after I shave, the alcohol in my deodorant will burn under my arms. Some people are allergic to products containing aloe vera and break out with a rash from it. If this is a problem for you, look for another product without it.

As soon as I dry my legs off, I apply uber amounts of moisturizer. If you can afford it, Aveeno is an excellent product. Budget wise, I would go with Jergens first and then Suave. In my experience, it makes a huge difference to apply a moisturizer after shaving. Seems to help calm everything down and reduce itching.
