Susan's Place Transgender Resources

Hey everyone it is me Ashley!! Just wanted to get something off my mind and chest. The last few weeks have all in all been great. I have been connecting closer to my inner woman and having the old faux mask of masculinity melt away. There is one other thing, and that is my difficulties saying good bye. I am moving to Brandon Manitoba this summer. I will be going there as a woman and I am going to make that city mine, fresh start. I still gotta lot of other work to do relating to past truamas as I have stated here in detail before. But it is a new. Still, I cant beleive I am going to say this but I am going to miss Petawawa. This is the town I moved to shorlty after high school came to a conclusion. This is where I began my working life and adulthood. I have made life long friends on one hand, and got some of the worst back stabbings and betrayal on the other. Basically, Petawawa  primed me up to the real world. But amongst it all, this is the town where Ashley was born.. her 20 year coma ended and the wake up process began. Im going to miss this place, and am a little nervous, though very hopefull of the future. Im going to miss my friends, the areas of this town where i used to hang when Ashley was being introduced to the world.... I guess I just felt like sharing that, now that I am leaving here and probably will never live here ever again, I am being reminded of the first few months of my real birth that took place 3 years ago.. Gives me a little smile on my face :)

  Take it from a Navy brat... Leaving anywhere that you have made friends and lain down roots no matter how shallow is difficult. But remember that you are off to start a whole new beginning in a new place. And for Ashley it is a new birth, a new chance to do things right.
   No failures and horror stories to hold you back. Those things will begin to fade away. But you will still have your memories of those good times as a foundation to build upon new. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes of its old life, so shall Ashley rise.
   And best of all you can take all of us here with you by keeping in touch and telling us of all your new milestones.
There are new friends to be making. Places to discover. Another job to excel at.
  You've got this girl! Take that new bull by the horns and swing up on it's back and ride girl. Tame that beast.  Make that new town you just like you said you would. And no looking back with any regrets!  Hear me?

Thanks girls!! Appreciate it all. Sunny days are coming... they should be, its almsot summer after all ;)

     Leaving a place where you grew up, at first leaves a hole in a persons life but eventually that hole gets smaller. When I retired that's what I did so Rae Anne could be born and I have no regrets. It just so happens that I pass thru Brandon twice a year, so who knows we just might bump into each other a Wall Mart. Good Luck with your move and keep smiling.   

I've moved around a bit, mostly do to my military service.  I have never left behind myself before.  One day I will do just that.  What I have found is that no matter where I went I was always there, and that home was where my heart was.  I hope that you will stay here as reading your posts has been helpful to me.  I hope that a piece of us will go with you.  Happy trails and good luck.

Maybe we will Rae Anne <3, and Artesia I am humbled my journey and posts have been an assistance for you <3.. I do intend to stay on Susans for quite sometime for what its worth :)

It is a very accepting town. I just started my journey and everybody I have encountered has fantastic.
