Title: Can anyone recommend an Endo in Chattanooga?
Post by: Haruna on May 05, 2017, 03:55:34 PM
Hoping someone here might know of a LGBT friendly endo (or other doctor) in the Chattanooga, TN area who can oversee HRT. I'm trying to get on hormones (MtF) and running into a complete lack of information in my area. My therapist gave me the information for a local group (Nooga Diversity Center) which supposedly had a list of resources but the resource page on their site is broken and I've had no luck contacting them or other local support groups I've found. I really don't want to start going down the list of participating endocrinologists on my insurance provider's site and start calling them blind without knowing what I'm walking into but it's starting to seem like I won't have a choice.

(Hopefully this is in the right section, I really wasn't sure)

I can tell you one in Atlanta.  I go there and have to drive about the same distance, except coming from the south.

Thanks, would definitely be good to know but it would be a last resort for me. I don't have a car right now so I'm very much hoping to find someone in Uber distance.

Here it is if you can't find someone there.  This is an LGBT centric clinic and does HRT for trans people.

Hi Haruna,

Welcome to the site. Sorry you are having troubles finding a endo near you. I hope you get that cleared up soon.

I guess you could cold call and just ask. The other option would be to ask at your local LGBTQ+ center or your local trans support organization. Don't know about a LGBTQ+ center but I did find this site for trans support http://www.manta.com/c/mt482st/tennessee-valley-transgender-support-group

Planned Parenthood provides HRT to some transgender people. Depends on the specific site. It looks like the one in Knoxville may be closest to you.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:
