Title: Do you cycle or take progesterone daily?

I had my 9 month hrt check up today. Yay! My Dr did start me on micronized progesterone and said to take it daily or for 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off depending how I feel. I was just curious, for the people who are taking progesterone here, did you notice a difference between cycling or daily use? Did you notice that daily use decreased your estradiols effects? Thanks.

I never cycled. I take it daily with food.

I am cycling... 14 days per month. Trying to match a female cycle when it comes to progesterone.I do notice that after getting off progesterone every month, I get a bit cranky.

I've been cycling both E and P for two months now -- and I have to say, the emotional acuity of this regimen has been pretty heavy-duty. But then, that's why I started cycling in the first place, to unlock some deeply buried feelings. I wouldn't actually recommend it for any other purpose. A steady-state regimen is perfectly appropriate as far as standard feminization is concerned.
Progesterone will have an impact on Estradiol effects, though, so you might inquire as to upping your E dose with your doctor if you feel you're not getting enough after being on P.

Thanks for your replies, guys. I think I'll start off as daily and see what happens.

I also take it daily, twice daily to keep levels more steady.

I've tried it both ways. I standardized on just everyday. No real reason to cycle except to create fake PMS and such.

OMG, PMS! I think one of the advantages of being trans is no PMS. Some of my girl friends think I'm so lucky not to have to deal with that.

Yeah I get that. I still admit to feeling a bit left out when period talk comes up among friend circles.

Cycling may help bridge that gap.
