I sometimes wonder if I only run into the top 10% nicest people in the world but yes. I only get gendered as female. No stares or double takes. Most of my boyfriend's family doesn't know despite having dinner with the entire clan every 2 weeks. Not that I am in hiding or anything but it is not something that comes up often.

I get guys staring at me like I'm some exotic deer ready to bolt any moment.. or at least that's what it feels like when they stare & don't say anything. Other than that the girls I talk to generally open up pretty quickly. I've never been much of a 'social butterfly', but I know how to be sociable. I get accepted as a female, and I never get sirred. I've had the 'what is that' stare when I first started, ... these stares aren't like that.
I guess that's good enough.

I am my preferred gender now. Acceptance no longer has anything to do with it.

One of the best side-effects of HRT is that I no longer give a **** what people think of me. I notice the odd person looking sideways at me, but it is rare. I think that, on the whole, my appearance is rather unremarkable and I don't attract undue attention. Mostly, people are polite and accept me as a woman. The legendary niceness of Nova Scotians helps: when in doubt, even a redneck will be nice. Even with my deep voice, masculine eyebrows (that's next!) and occasional pre-electrolysis stubble, I feel accepted.

Most acceptance issues I have are of my own making, usually pre-emptive anxiety that has little grounding in the truth. The real evidence is that most people don't even notice me as I get on with my day beyond the occasional smile and recently door opening by men. Have to get used to that one;D

Not like I care what other people think.. but I do feel accepted as one of the girls.
plus my man accepts me as I am, and that the most important thing of all.

Some people do. Some people never will. C'est la vie.

For the vast majority of situations, yes. I pass pretty well, but most of all I AM a woman and that probably colours how people see me.

While i don't pass. I get treated remarkably well. During last three months went through some difficulties and lost my job. The VA enrolled me in a compensated work therapy program where i worked in the library at the VA. I was nervous starting there but was treated awesome by the staff and veterans. I excelled in that position. And the va placed me at an external company.it is a paper recycling company and out of 38 employees their are only four females. Everyone treats me great. The drivers call me honey all the time. Some even flirt with me.. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170513/6bd189d9b1dfd5cf3d98bc59d56bf5f4.jpg)

This is the stuff I love to hear. Real women living real lives as their actualized selves and finding true happiness. This is my definition of real and true success! Good job, Hon! You're rollin!

For the most part, I have to say that I have been accepted and embraced by the people that I've come out to. The caveat, though, is that my wife and I have been very picky so far over whom we've told. We've picked friends and family that we had a good idea would be very supportive. Crunch time is coming, though, and we will soon have to get to those members of our families that we are concerned about. The funny thing is, the more people I tell, the less I care who doesn't accept me. My fears are melting away in a way that I could never imagine.
