Hi everyone,
I have been away from Susan's for a bit and have seen the membership change somewhat. Hence I feel the need for a bit of a re introduction. I originally joined Susan's back in 1998, went on hormones for 2 years and tried to transition. With society being different than today, and me underestimating the huge undertaking, transition was short lived. Fast forward to late 2014, I again struggled with my identity. I started hormones and the process of coming out to family and friends. I have seen some of my friends go by the way side, some where hurtful, Some were so happy that I could show my true self. (all female of course). Along with rlt, Hrt has helped in changing my psyche from self loathing and dislike , to embracing who I am. Under the care of a great lady i have getting electro for two years now and can see some results.
The largest step was taken in December '16 , when I came out to human resources . The process is now mid way and hope to come out to coworkers in the very near future. I think living in Canada, has really helped to make this easier, it is harder here than most places to just fire some body cause they are different , on the surface I feel my employer has been very accommodating Also i have legally changed name and gender marker on birth cert and all ident .
With this out of the way, I hope to meet some old friends here, and embrace some new ones. My profile ID is different than legal name so you may address me as either. I may be a cunning linguist..... but really suck on a keyboard .... my apologies. Oh ya new profile pic is coming .....pic not avatar

Hi Laurie,
Lol, that is weird, I feel like I am talking to myself. I am Laurie too. Welcome back, You old user ID wasn't Laurie too by any chance was it?
I am 64 and pretty new to transitioning having started in December 2016. That was shortly after I came to the realization that I was a trans woman and far more than the life long crossdresser I thought I was. Once I did realize it, it was only a short time starting HRT and I am still loving it. I also have enjoyed finding Susan's Place and becoming part of this community. Welcome back to the fold. I have found a lot of help and support from the other denizens of the realm. They've helped me through telling my doctors and apprehension of getting therapy. They've cajoled me into a few outings as myself all intended to help me become more comfortable with presenting in public. I have a long ways to go in that area still.
I am glad you have returned and are settling in again, Alas your chair in the lounge was worn out and replaced long ago so you'll need to pick another. I hope to see more of you here Laurie.
Welcome back Laurie, welcome home.
Hugs,
Laurie
