Title: Pride
Post by: MeTony on May 20, 2017, 01:51:31 PM
I was in a Pride parade today. I went to see my cousine.  We have not seen each other for 15 years. I said "hi" and waited for her to realize who I am.

Later I realized, maybe this was an unexpected push to come out. I def do not look like a girl. Maybe a butch. Going to surprise her was an impulsive action from me. I had not planned to go.

She is active in an organization fighting for LGBTQ rights. She had organized the parade.

So what was her reaction when she did figure it out? You left out all of the details. Hope the pride parade was a good feeling for you. I'm thinking about going to the one here in June.

I'm no good at details. Lol.

She stared at me for a minute and then she said "Oh! Hi! I did not know you! Welcome!"

Believe she was a bit puzzled.

I am pre op. But look like a dude.

She was so happy to see me. I met her children and we decided to keep contact.

A co-worker had seen me at the parade. She was there in the audience. She asked me in the morning if it was me she had seen.

Later that day my closest co-worker called me "my brother". It felt so nice. He shouted that in the office when I came back from lunch. No irony or anything.

I don't know if it was because they had talked or he just said it with no reason. But either way, it felt really good.
