Title: Hello
Post by: SapphireLotus on May 22, 2017, 08:33:46 PM
Hi,

I am 27 years old and have been on hormones for 9-10 years. I have had no surgeries and have just started electrolysis (although I've been told I don't need it). I have been 'full time' for the same length of time as hormones, I actually went 'full-time' a little before hormones. I've already changed my social security and passport among other things to reflect my correct name and sex marker, although I have yet to have surgery.

I work in accounting and spend much of my free time playing video games, writing, reading, watching movies, watching anime, reading manga, playing tabletop RPGs, etc. I studied Philosophy and Religious Studies in school with minors in Psychology and Sociology. I've got a dog that I absolutely adore and I baby her maybe too much. I am a homebody by nature and an introvert, so I get burned out with social situations fairly quickly and need time alone to recharge my batteries, so to speak.

I don't often do things involving trans related things so this is a bit new to me. I am 'stealth' for the most part although I don't care for the term. I tend to agitate many people in the trans community for my ideas about my own identity and how I have defined it, although it isn't intentional.

Although I typically keep to myself I feel that this is an aspect of myself that I need to talk about at times with someone other than my mother or my therapist so I'm hoping for a positive experience.

Hi, SapphireLotus!  Welcome to the site.

I think you may have one of the more interesting backgrounds I've seen among members here.  It sounds like you are just out there living your life, and well settled in with just being yourself.  Congratulations on finding your path through life.

I think you will find some friendly folks here with their own interesting backgrounds, some seeking help or information, some providing it, and some just engaging in friendly banter.  It's a good place for helping with the trans parts of our lives.

Join the club! Lol.

Someone here once said I was "challenging" and she said that was a compliment. I just see so many people with weird ideas. Lol

Welcome to the forum! It's a nice place with lots of good people. [emoji3]
