So for the last 3 months i've been on a high dose of spironolactone and a high dose of estradiol (split morning and night) , and only recently have i been experiencing some very negative side effects from what i believe to be the spironolactone, because after taking it, in about a hour i feel drained, fatigued, very nauseas to the point of throwing up. I feel like just as soon as i'm actually getting on with my life the effects of this really hit me hard. I feel as if i don't have another choice but to take spironolactone because one its readily available, and effective unlike cypro where as it is indeed my next best bet but not available in the U.S

Any advice on what to do in this trial of my life is greatly appreciated!

See a doctor about it for one, but personally I'd stop taking the spiro for a while to see if that's whats causing it. Once you know that you can work out the next step - and maybe just reducing it would work.

These are well known side effects of Spironolactone. There are other anti androgen  drugs that can be used in place of Spironolactone.  Finasteride blocks the conversion of Testosterone to Dihydrotestosterone, which is many time more powerful in it androgenic effects. Just substituting Finasteride for Spironolactone may be enough to get you where you want to be until you can have an orchiectomy or SRS.

Welcome to Susan's Place. As I haven't used Spiro, I am unable to comment from experience but a check on the internet shows a large number of side effects. I have had a good deal of experience with estrogens and have seen that sometimes it can cause a bit of an uneasy stomach at first but it's easily solved by taking it at meal time. Because it's hitting you so hard, I would suspect the Sprio and you should discuss this as soon as possible with your doctor.

Hi SleepyKitty and welcome to the forum!!!...Three weeks into HRT I found out  I was horrlbly allergic to Spiro ... My doctor gave me Finasteride instead and my T was very well suppressed until my GRS with no noticeable side effects!

Onward we go brave sister!!!!

Welcome to Susan's. As stated review this with your doctor. Make sure you are drinking 8 to 10 cups of water and eating salt. Lots of salt.

For every caffeinated beverage drink 2 cups of water in addition to the base line water. Exercise, drink lots of water. Drink water when you wake up in the morning.

Constipation and or type 1 poop is a sign you are not eating salad and drinking enough water. 

B vitamins are water soluble so make sure you are taking a multiple.

Its probably dehydration exacerbated by the spironolactone

For many years, I never had any of those symptoms. When I started experiencing ' morning sickness', I tried several things to figure out what might have caused it. Only when I stopped drinking coffee, did the symptoms vanish.
This was all soon after my insurance refused to pay for Premarin, and I switched to Estradiol. This may or not be your problem, but you may want to consider it as a possibility.

I am wondering have you tried taking your spironolactone with food?

Its probably a combo of the two that is making you feel that way.  Nausea is a side effect for some of estradiol.  I get it occasionally after my shots of estradiol.
